90s P Lyte Deluxe - Carol Kaye's former favorite

Looks like it could use some TLC but all there. A lot of bass for very little money. Currently at $200 with 30 bids. Mahogany body and active EQ.

Carol used to speak highly of this model before she moved to the Ibanez. She just didn't like the bridge, said it was "too soft" (whatever this means) and I think she ended up swapping the stock P pickup for a Seymour Duncan APB-1.

I'm guessing Fender were trying to make an Ibanez SDGR.

These were made in the same Fujigen factory as the Soundgears of that era.

They were made from the early to mid 90s, inexpensive, retailed for about $400. Don't know what Carol meant about the bridge. The body wood looked great, but whatever it was, it wasn't a genuine mahogany. They had a cheap preamp and pickups that sounded like the Cowpoke of 94-95, maybe identical, I'm not surprised that Carol changed the pickups. Of course she could make anything sound good.

It tickles me that early 90s is now being called vintage.

Not worth that much IMHO but not surprising. After all, it's "vintage."
