Gibson is planning a major change to the entire Epiphone guitar line-up

@Chris P. - I wonder if the changes will include the US Rivoli you mentioned after NAMM this past winter.

A Thunderbird II would be refreshing.  :-*

Could be cool! They 'promised' those US models for summer NAMM, but they weren't there.

Just like TBird1958 said earlier, it would behoove them to offer the T-Bird Max in more colors.  Maybe not the whole 60's color chart., but some colors more 'stock' than black, white, and the standard 'burst.  And to offer some cool colors for the Embassy might go a little ways towards making up for the 2+2 headstock. Why did they do that?  Nice bass, but the 4 on a side headstock is the proper con-figuration if you are trying to 'reissue' a classic piece like the Embassy . IMHO. Tony

The upper horn on the Embassy doesn't look right. Presumably they did it for better balance but if you're doing a reissue, do it right. OTOH I won't be surprised if they drop it.

I don't think that would be commercially very interesting for them. How many historically correct Embassy bass guitars do you think they would sell? I think that a light weight bass (such as the Embassy) would appeal to a much wider audience if it balances better. Hence the longer horn and the 2x2 headstock decision.

I do think the longer horn is ugly though...

You're right, Rob,it would have to be a very limited edition. I doubt the current version has sold well either. Most bassists never knew the original ever existed.

Given the price that it's being offered at, it's probably a decent seller. I've only had one in my hands and fit and finish left an awful lot to be desired, which caught me by surprise.

Why Epi headstocks should look more Gibsonish is beyond me, I was fine with the old/new look. If you wanna change something ...
