Local friend asked me about this: 2012 EB 8 String. Have we seen it before? Obviously not factory original, and even if it was made in 2012, the EB's first model year was 2013.

Can't see it

It's a 2013, you can make out the serial number if you blow up the pic.  Terrible job of spacing out the tuner holes.

I agree. Also note the Schaller roller bridge.

When I try to save the two pics, they enlarge into a small portion of the bass. They're too dark anyway except for the back of the neck. Sorry.

Thanks!
Looks interesting.
That bridge is most likely a Schaller 8 string bridge (with 8 separate saddles).
Spacing tuners for 8 string and/or 12 string basses is a matter of making compromises.
It is very hard to place them evenly and not have some of the strings run too close to the string posts.

It's actually tempting at that price, but I'd have to see and play it in person first. Not that I need more than one 8 string.

It's gone.

Given that it was mere $600 at their otherwise pricey Times Square location, I'm not one bit surprised. Wanted to try it out myself next Tuesday...

The price was right, if the mods were decently well done, so I'm not surprised that it's gone.

Does GC make its employees take a course in how to take crappy pics on purpose?

No, one is tested for their natural ability to perform such artwork at the time of hiring...

Their website is getting worse and worse in this respect...who knew that there was such an amount of talent out there.
