Hi guys,

I recognize quite a few familiar names on this board. I used to post quite a bit about a decade or more ago on the Dudepit or whatever it used to be called.  The reason I joined this page is because I found that my old Les Paul Signature Bass just sold at a shop outside of Frankfurt, Germany.

I am hoping certain German Gibson bass enthusiast might have picked this one up...

Welcome!

It's possible that Uwe bought it, but I doubt it. He already has one.

OTOH one of my sons is in Germany on a work assignment. Maybe he stopped over in Frankfurt to buy a little souvenir for me.  ;)

Welcome (back) Dennis.
What is that black pickup? Is it original? Lo-z?

Welcome back Dennis! I reme, ber when you went hunting for a pickup for that bass. Ended up with a Grabber pickup IIRC.

It does look like a Grabber pickup yes.
In that case the description of guitarpoint is incorrect. They claim it's a lo-z pickup.
Happens quite often with this shop... They don't know or they don't care. Or both...

Yup, it was a pickup from a 1976 or 1977 Ripper.  I got the bass without any electronics at all.  The guys at Elderly wired it up for me.  I absolutely loved that bass and it killed me to have to sell it, but I was a poor-ass grad student and rent was due.  It was either that one or my beloved 1974 EB-3L that I've had since was 18 and will never sell.

One of these days I will get her back, I hope.  But when I see the price keep climbing like that...yikes.

Yes, and considering it does'nt have the original electronics I'd say it was way overpriced.
