Peavey KB100 for bass

I have found a good deal for a used KB100 (80 euros), I know that's a keyboard amp, I need something to play at home, but I don't want to pay for a little box with a tinny 8" speaker, at least this thing has a 15" and it's a Peavey (built like a tank they say...). Has anyone any experience with those?

I had a TNT `130 for a while.
It was loud but sterile and needed a sans to sound decent.

No experience with it, however, it has a sealed bass-reflex cab (long front slot). Should be better for bass than a small box with an 8" speaker.

Are you directly plugging in a passive bass? If so it might not have an input that works well for that. I believe those amps have only mic or like level inputs, nothing designed for passive guitars or basses. I'd Google for a manual and see if you can confirm.

Here's the manual, the Hi Z instrument input specs look fine to me.

Thank you for your answers, I will probably use it with some preamp or some pedal in front, not directly plugged in my passives. I will pick it up today and see...

Well it's here and it sounds nice direct plugged in. Very clear sounding amp.

I've had a KB-300 for quite a few years. I bought it for a steal because of the low impedance mic input in channel (1). It works well for the Les Paul Signatures & with an adapter I modified, it works with the Hobbit & LPR.

Yesterday I had some time to experiment, I splited my signal using an old multieffect unit, one output to the Peavey and the other to an old Epiphone transistor guitar amp I got, put the bass on 0 (to protect the 10" speaker) and the gain to max, and WOW that's some nice grunt right there, I am impressed. It almost made me to go find a drummer!

Good to know, I don't have anything low-impedance, but who knows what could happen in the future...

Sorry I'm late, but I had one of those for a bit. Nothing to write home about but does the job and is fine for bass. The reverb is a'ight too.
