Are you in an eighties hair metal band? Looking for a bass that fits with the spandex?

This is your bass. It's even been reliced for you...

That price is ridiculous...

Over the edge for me. I've been watching for a Gibson IV and they've gone north of $1K as well.
Too bad...

Is everybody unloading their Gibson polished turds for the holidays? If so, that means I'll probably see my old V-Bass up for sale...

Just a couple of years ago I was going to bid on a nice natural Gibson IV but forgot about it. I think it sold for less than $500.  :P

These off Gibsons aren't going to sell at those prices. The sellers will find that out eventually. Most of the 90s and older Gibsons on eBay and Reverb are overpriced, you can tell b/c so have been there a long time and/or relisted.

I bought my slothead EB-0 for under $900 last December. It had been listed at $1295 (IIRC) for 2 years! Seller reduced the price and I made an offer below that. And you think your beat up "custom custom" Q80 will sell at $1199? Dream on, pal, or hope for an ignorant buyer.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I remember that kind of price being common as well.

It's the pups that let this thing down, unremarkable, already then outdated Grabber-fare that also did service in the 80ies Explorers. Everything else is ok on this bass or at least a matter of taste. But a straight Victory is the more well-rounded design overall. This thing tried to escape being a Victory, but didn't get very far and on the way ditched some of the better characteristics of the Victory.

This IV bass that used to be mine is not selling on reverb.com https://reverb.com/item/5593050-vintage-1987-gibson-iv-electric-bass-guitar-w-original-case-rare-model I found the listing about six months ago.

Even at that price, it's a lot of bass for the money. Problem is, they don't fetch that kind of price.

If it hasn't sold at that price in 7 months, then he doesn't really want to sell...yet.

I had to look it up. I sold that bass on ebay in 2005 for $480 and $22.65 shipping. I sold a different Bass IV (maybe a red one) in 2000 for $265.

Here's a red Q80 @ $695 + 15% off at checkout ($591)

Not crazy about $100 shipping though - or is that the going rate these days?

I haven't made a bass purchase in some time so I've been out of touch.

No, it's not the going rate. No matter, I always look at the overall price. And there's that Make Offer button.

That one looks pretty good. It hasn't sold at nine months at that price, and there haven't been any offers.
