I can't grab this, despite so desperately wanting it (everything I want in a bass head) and being in need of just a bit more power than I currently have on tap. I'd sell my Garnet Sessionman for it but it wouldn't get me enough and the shipping is a bit prohibitive (despite the 15% discount coupon thing - so the price is actually a reasonableish 1400 vs 1600).

Same seller also has a more standard version (tube rectified and 16/8 Ohm outs vs 8/4) as well as a 2000s (bass version without reverb and trem; cheaper) as well as an Eden E300t (for even cheaper than that).

The seller is a bit melodramatic with some of the product descriptions (these are not louder than an SVT, even 'on paper').

... and the same dude has a (what looks like - didn't check all pics) mint 60s LP bass (somewhat erroniously listed as a Triumph, but I suspect that's keyword spamming), but the price on that seems a bit high maybe.  Possibly worth a 'make an offer' attempt. ... I need to become besties with this guy.

It turns out a local store (notorious for overpricing) didn't close, so much as move out to the sticks, has one right now.  Any advice on what these are worth?  From what I am seeing looks like 1000-1200 USD in good condition.  Looks like this one is bone stock (original power tubes and likely no recap).

I'm gonna try to go check it out on the weekend.  Still a bit pricey but I'm taking the appearance of a local one as a sign.

All the big tube (200 watt) Sunns are relatively rare, the 1200, Model T and 2000S, but less popular than other vintage makes ~$1k for one in good working condition seems about right. That's the going rate for a gamble on an eBay SVT.

Thanks.

Have had two 2000s´s in for repair, the last one had just bought it - i think he paid $2000 for it. It was really clean and had a fresh cap job, but quite pricey. He wanted one and had the money, so why not:-)

They sound really good, agree to that. But no SVT killer, where did that come from :P

Yeah, it's the same old guy running that shop as back in the day.  Called to check if they still had the head, said yes so I said 'great see you tomorrow.'  Then dude calls me back saying 'there's good news and bad news - we have the head but the price was wrong.'  So I ask him in which direction it is being corrected to which he replied 'upwards because it's super rare,'  so I told him there's 6 of them for sale online right now and his was already the highest priced (USD1600) and hung up.

This is a guy who used to list the most batterred 60s (non-rev) Tbirds (not just worn, but with bridge slant mods and unfilled holes etc just really beat up) for upwards of 4K.  ... a decade ago.  70s EB3s for 2K (again, a decade ago). Now I remember why I stopped going to that store.  It seems all the really cool vintage stuff was sucked up by him, and then he put insane markups on everything becasue the only one you could find locally was at his store.  That just won't work no more in the age of the internet.

So sign or no sign, there ain't no dealling with a dude like that.

.... I can get a brand new, custom to my specs, Hovercraft for that much.

OMG LOL.  After I hung up on him he jack the price from USD 1600 to 1695.  No big deal, but then today I was listing some stuff and saw he has now raised the price to USD2200.

The ebay flower pot guy calls him 'master'
