Twitter is a pox upon humanity, even before it's current owner came on.

There is nothing to see or hear here, just another new smart song from the Sparks, which will be ignored just like the countless others from them I have posted here before.

You're real good at ignoring them.

There are literally thousands of message boards, websites, social media platforms that politics can be discussed on.  Although I am not disagreeing that things are a complete mess right now, this thread is getting old.  Go rant on Twitter if it makes you feel better.  I have started to come here more often to see cool quirky basses (to me), discover new random tunes or bands that people play in, or discover some off the wall obscure random trivia about Deep Purple that Herr Uwe digs up from his memory banks, not see political topics repeated kicked ad-nauseum that could be discussed literally on thousands of other sites/platforms/media.

Quote from: uwe on April 01, 2025, 04:49:37 PMAccess to education is a key driver to development and progress in any society and economy. I always thought the West had agreed on that long ago. As our societies and economies develop, not having a proper education will push you into fringe jobs with precarious job security and pressure for low wages. You will spend a good deal of your life fighting off to be redundant and never quite make it.

I don't want elites, I want well-educated masses. That is one of the things that makes a country strong and resilient.

I understand that people long for the 50s, 60s and early 70s when an unskilled auto worker in Detroit could pay off a house, have a small boat on Lake Michigan, cars for himself, the wife and his kids plus send them all to Ann Arbor for college, but that time won't come back. Established Western countries are doomed to develop into information and knowledge-based societies.

What I can't understand is "wanting to bring manufacturing back"...

It's looking to the past rather than the future.

Same with hindering electric car development...

Why look backwards when the future is forwards?

Same with pushing fossil fuels, when the future is obviously something else...

In order to be successful, don't you need to look to the future, and be the first one there...?

I know a novel approach. It seems my penchant for grind isn't for everyone so I though I'd give this a shot,  used the tube pre amp setting on my Rumble 800 Stage. I may or may not use it again, I suppose it depends on my mood. 😁😎
