The Outpost Cafe / Re: Just watched the ACM awards

Well, I agree that country is evolving, although some folks don't see it that way.  Evolution of music is in the ear of the beholder!  It seems it happens to all music forms eventually.  I don't listen to any new rock as it just leaves me empty.  I actually became a serious country fan about 10 years ago (grew up with it through high school, but the British invasion turned me around), but I'm already missing the old style stuff.

I watched a few minutes of the ACM and wasn't able to maintain my interest.  The low point for me was Kenny Chesney's performance of his new song.  It had a barely discernible melody, he struggled through the entire song like it was below his range and when it did move up the scale he was flat as a pancake.  Very disappointing performance.

Long live classes rock.   8)

Thanks for all of the kind words.  I'm very pleased with how It turned out.  I'm hoping I can work on it today.  I may have had my last chemo for awhile.  We'll see how the CT scan goes next week.

Looking good, Bill. Agreed, better gold than another red one.

He wanted to age the wood a little more.  :)

There's nothing like old wood IMHO!    :P

Simply beautiful, Bill (yBo) ... ;)

I wish I'd typed that...

Me too!

Well, this is finally in the home stretch!  Got the body back from the finisher and it turned out great.  Gold top is really slick and the dark walnut stain on the back goes with it perfectly.  I really like how the gold top looks on this body style.  The typical red "only"  Billybos are a bit repetitious.  I'll get rest of the hardware on it this week depending on how I feel.

Well, that's one way to get the wife into your shop to help!  Give her a crank to spin.   ;)

Hopefully slightly more diplomatically than that!

"So Mr. Glover, some faceless goon on the Internet thinks that you probably got a better tone from a MIC Fender than your expensive Vigier basses, and implied that your '70s tone was much better than anything since. Thoughts?"

Sounds like a good opener for friendly conversation.

Ah, before we know it, all Gibson basses will be vintage, collectable instruments when Gibson stops making any new ones!  Aren't we lucky???

I have horns in both my 1x15 cabs and they are turned off.  I don't like the sound with them on.
