this is a pitbull with the cover off in my eb2[img][http://i236.photobucket/img].note the fender string spacing.i now have an artec blade humbucker with alnico magnets in the back of my eb4l and it sounds fantastic.i will take it out later and find the model number.

Gibson Basses / Re: What's Up With These 'Mudbucker-like' Pickups?

arrrgh thats so wrong, it should be gibson spacing!you could always do what i did with my allparts mudbucker type pickup and remove the  polepiece bolts and put a square section metal bar on top of the existing drilled one.instant blade pickup.i liked what it did to my one.however the holes in the chrome cover would still be off...

ah yes.i put the 3 point bridge on there back when the bass was in its fugly state.i didnt have the old holes filled because i thought i might be able to get a 60s t bird bridge in there.i dont think that can be done though.the 3 point i like a whole lot better than the 2 point,it was much easier to set up and on this bass at least,it sounds better too.

it had a model one in the front and 3 di marzio j pickups in the back passage.i was not greatly impressed with the sound.hey yes indeed it was inspired by john cippolinas guitar, a shot of it on the cover of a man record called maximum darkness.the bulk of the hole in the back was filled with a mahogany block .the motherbucker in the back has 2 humbuckers in it which i have wired in series and measure 20 k ohms.adds some nice mids to the sound as the front pickup is all bass and a touch of treble.i would put up some sound cllps but i dont know how..
