It's been almost 6 years since Bill passed, its hard to believe. I have been helping his window disperse his collection. I have mixed feelings owning this bass but I am glad it's with me. Sorry I still can't post photos, I'll do a more comprehensive video later.

Man this thing reminds me of Bill (drbassman) he'd get a kick out of it. Before he passed he gave me some Hofner parts and this is just the thing to use them up on. This thing has been hanging around the House of Guitars for years possibly decades a three legged misfit toy if there ever was one. I got it cheap comes with the pickups and a contol plate. I am going to put it back as close to original as I can.

There have been differing reports on the magnets in these pickups my contact at Gibson got this information from Jim Dicola, Alnico V magnets wound to vintage specifications. Hope that clears things up.

My first real tube bass rig was built around a '79 Super Bass that I special ordered in '78. I've been wanting another recently this Super Lead is what I found.

Back down the 7ender rabbit hole. I will be working with a country artist out of Nashville. I selected this 50s Precision from a bunch at the House of Guitars, many were far more expensive. I'll be tuning it BEAD. Gigs are piling up , I'll keep you posted.

A real quick video of my recently acquired Acoustic 360 with my beat '66 Thunderbird. Little correction, I mention that I had a 360 I meant to say 370. I see why Jim Lea and Martin Turner used them.

I have been informed that the pickups are going to be 60's spec humbucking alnico five units. This info comes directly from Gibson.This is very good news indeed, I can even forgive the three point. Delivery ETA April

I've been asked quite a bit for live footage of the VP but at this point in time rehersal will have to do. Our first full rehearsal since before Christmas. Felt good to all be together again. It's a bit off to the races but but I am very happy with the bass sound. I love my VP bird!
