Hmm.. I like the normal Gibson shapes better. Leave it as it is. And if you don't like it, I'll buy it!

Gibson Basses / Re: Lots of chrome in my life :)

We do use chrome in Europe! I'll do my best to find some examples.

Holland had a big chrome shortage in the late '40s, early '50s, after Hornung Sr. took all our chrome-steerd bikes to make a fortune for his future son... you can imagine it hurts badly, everytime Junior's talking about his chrome pick ups.

About relics...

A part of me thinks it's stupid to relic a brand new expensive Fender CS or Gibson guitar and it's even more stupid people buy them

But... I was in a shop the other day and I saw some nice relic'ed Jazzmasters and a Sandberg Bass. And I just love it. I had no eyes for the other instruments!

You're totally right. I know all the differences and I even have some Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/hemi books at home. I always confuse the Charger and Challenger names and I think the orange colour helped a bit...

They have to make a new Charger too! Or do they?

I guess there are a lot of cheaper no-name guitars which are as good or better than Fender. of course you pay for the name and you just want to have 'Fender'  or 'Gibson' at your headstock. Same as Levi's, coca-Cola, et cetera.

I played Guitar Hero on a Les Paul some weeks ago. not completely my thing...

I think they're doing right! Look at the youngest Fiat heir. What's his name? I believe a grandson of Angelli's. He's making hip Fiat shoes, shirts and bags and now they're making nice cars too, like the new 500. He does the same by making it a brand you want to have.

Other Bass Brands / Re: What kind of bass is this?
« on: July 13, 2008, 04:19:15 AM »
It is!

I have a great '64 Burns Vista Sonic with low impedance pick ups. A bit like a Les Paul Recording. Those old Burns basses are great. very, very fat and even versatile. A lot of British studio players use(d) them.

There aren't much famous Bison users; Andy Bell of Oasis uses reissues live and sometimes originals on recordings.
