The Outpost Cafe / Airplanes and such
« on: March 24, 2014, 06:54:42 PM »
I finally got a day off of work, and decided to actually leave my apartment.  I took a short day trip to the Air Force Museum, and took a few photos.

Among the more interesting aircraft were this WWI bomber.  The back of the seats are the fuel tanks.

Jack's new album comes out soon.  I like his piano work, but he's not looking so well these days.

The Outpost Cafe / Chaos pen

The comments are priceless.  A pen weighs 10 pounds?  We tend to avoid basses at that weight.

The Bass Zone / Columbus guitar show 2014
« on: January 12, 2014, 03:51:31 PM »
I decided to go to the guitar show here in Columbus today.  It was lit up, for a change, and there was a big room of not much to interest me.   There was a Guild B-302 for $650 that wasn't too bad.  Two items caught my eye.

Wal bass - the owner wasn't around, but the other person in the booth told me that this bass was sent back to Wal for a new finish, and to remove the bridge pickup, and install a couple of switches, which you probably can't see on the pickguard, right below the pickup.  Price was $2500, which I thought might be a really good deal.

A Crown 12-string guitar.  I've never heard of these, but it was interesting looking.

No affiliation.  One of the guys in the Chicago bands FB page is selling an original Sunn cab.  One of Carlo's customers is up there, too.

The Outpost Cafe / RIP Lou Reed

Rolling Stone reports the passing of Lou Reed.  Like them or not, and I didn't particularly, you can't miss hearing the influence of The Velvet Underground on new music.
