I don't remember seeing that one before.

Olivia's sure seems to come up with the unusual.

The Triumph doesn't surprise me.

The EB-1 Reissue seems way higher than normal even if all the parts were original.

i've got Guild "Sludgebuckers" in my Ripper

LOL! I just googled Sludgebuckers again, and you and chromium are still the only two people on the planet who use that term.

Being a trendsetter is hard work!

All drummers should strive to be like Victor DeLorenzo.  8)

What? Doesn't the Superbowl need performers who wear a sequined glove, have a boob fall out, or stumble around like a craggy old fart on 'ludes?  At least The Who passes the test of "artists popular with sports fans who haven't purchased new music since 1984".

Don't forget that Paul McCartney played superbowl halftime about 4 super bowls ago. It's not all bad.

Still, I'd prefer the Who's current lineup to most they've had in recent years.

45 lbs., that's as heavy as my Mesa Bass 400+ (without rack enclosure).

....  He wasn't exactly literate, and assumed that if there were a holiday it had to be for a political figure or a religious reason.  Everyone kept saying something he didn't understand on this find day, and he thought we were celebrating the feast of Saint Skeebbing.  So I wish you all HAPPY SAINT SKEEBBING!

Did you tell him the story of how St. Skeebing was trussed up, basted and roasted by infidels?

The camels likely keep house better than the humans in that community, as you can see from the photo of the front door of one of the local homes.

The article says "Indigenous community" so I can connect the dots. Rural, dirt poor and squalid.

And all this time I thought he was based on Vladimir Horowitz!

Seriously, he's Dr. John with a little Leon Russell influence.

But Dr. Teeth is no Rowlf.

I did have an interesting experience about three years ago at the GC in San Antonio. I had to ask the salesman to get a Mustang RI down from the wall (it was strange, they had all the cheaper basses way high up and the expensive ones lower). He stuck around and tried to get me to plug into one of their Markbass units. I said no thanks, walked to their GK display, plugged in and started playing.

He then got a MM Sterling, plugged into a Markbass and proceeded to drown me out with high volume slap crap. It was deliberate.  ???

I put down the Mustang and walked out.

About a week later I was in the neighborhood again, the Mustang was in easy reach, so I sat down to play again. Wouldn't you know it, the same dickhead walks into the bass room, again picks up the Sterling, goes to the Markbass display and plugs in.

I walked out again. Only this time, I called the manager after I got home. I told him about both incidents and told him that if I decided to buy a Mustang, it wouldn't be from them.

Never saw that salesman again.  8)

Sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock movie to me.

Seriously, it's sad to see them slaughtered but what else can they do?

Daniel, in the US that depends on where it's imported from. A stringed instrument is duty free from a lot of countries, very little duty from others, depending on trade agreements, but can be 40% for the few countries that we don't have normal trade relations with.

Interesting one Mr D...

Not so up on these... hasn't Uwe got a Blue one... vaguely remember a car related thread... ("Ripper Blue")

He does have a blue Ripper (or is it a Grabber?) but it might be a factory paint job or a pro refin.
