Anyone have any thoughts about Epi nonreverse Thunderbirds? Do they have the same sound as the reverse models?

A buddy of mine told me I had to join under pain of death, so here I am. Started playing in December and am having a great time with it. Currently I'm playing a Danelectro '63 RI long scale through a mid-'70s Fender Bassman.  :)
