I've got that '72 Fender 4x10 and it's great. Speaking of wheels I found a set of original pop out casters for it and life just got so much easier...

Yep, picked it up Saturday. I love it!

I would say it's in pretty darn nice shape for being 29 years old. It's not nearly as heavy (to me) as it looks or as I expected it would be. The neck has a really cool shape too, more rounded than the Cowpoke or T-bird and is very similar to that on my Danelectro. It fits me well.

Personally, I think it's a badass bass and I don't regret spending the $600 it. Came with the original case too! I'll take a few photos and post them tonight or tomorrow. I'm happy!

Hey Denis, did you ever get your Fender Compact fixed? I'm curious about what the actual problem was.
Rick

Hi Rick,
Yep, I sure did! Several of the solder joints had in fact deteriorated to the point where it just stopped putting out sound. I took it to a local amp shop where I was told it might take 3 weeks, might take 4, might take 2 due to the backlog. 5 days later the shopped called told me it was ready and apologized for it taking so long. I thought that was funny and told them I'd wait a week for anything so no worries there.
The amp sure sounds great though!

"Must have been Paul, he's the one who does the smashing act at the end of every performance, but the guitars he smashes are props, prepped to snap on impact."

Gee, thanks for taking the fun out of it.  :-\

Don't shine a spotlight on that sucker or you'll be blind for a week.

I call dibs if you don't like it...
(or else)

But of course, Badger.

They're sturdy beasts. Check whether the pups and the varitone works and whether the truss rod adjustment nut looks ok. Other than that, you're set.

Will do, Uwe!

We'd be great roommates then because I am the snoring champion!

Thanks for the welcome Mark, but it's just me Robert.  I left for a while but now I'm back again.  I decided to use part of my old name in German.  Sort of like the old Me 410.

Nice plane, and welcome!

Nice pics! My dad took me to see Kiss in '77 or '78 at Cumberland County Memorial Auditoreum in Fayetteville, NC. He bought a KISS logo belt buckle and I bought a tour book, both of which I still have. The tour book even has the KISS ARMY iron-on still inside!

Our school's student body president was there near the front and when Gene or Paul smashed his guitar to pieces, he got the neck and headstock!

Going to look at it Saturday definitely, maybe earlier if possible. It's been stored for 15 years and comes with the original case.

Found a guy who has a black '80 Gibson Ripper with the original case for $600. Someone talk me out of it. Or into it...
