Makes sense. You typically do see them with the color on all parts of the body. I do like this look a lot and I really like the bass so far.

That is good information, thanks. Installed a set of DR Black Beauties this evening and it sounds much more like my sound. So far have found a couple of settings that I like. I do see where the "sterile/HiFi" comments come from tho. Turn a couple knobs the wrong way and it becomes kind of brittle sounding, for lack of a better word. So far so good.

I guess that one is not a factory burst.

Why do you say that?

Dave, here is the serial number you were asking about. The site lists it as a 98 but I have no clue. I remember seeing the flat-bodied LP's at The Bass Place back in the early to mid 90's but couldn't tell you what year that actually was.

This is a nice solid bass! It has tapewounds on it now so it sounds very thumpy.

I haven't sold on eBay in a few years but never had a problem as a seller. Just stopped using them when the fees reached a stupid level. I have sold a couple items on Reverb and had no issues there. Craigslist is free but you get a lot of tire kickers and obvious scammers. Text messages like "I am interested in your musical instrument. Please send me your final price" are common from scammers. I started leaving the texts on my phone so I know its the same scammer later when they reach out for my next item. There are also new sites like Offer Up but i have no experience with those.

Alas!, are you too now following George's unsavoury trend of depicting reflections of body parts with your photographs?  :-X

Every chance I get

I was able to log in again and see any pics I wanted. Going to try posting to see if it works.

That seems to have worked. My account says I have used 40% of my space, which is around 500 shots. Wonder why I can get in and others can't? Only business I've ever done with them was ordering a canvas print from them last Christmas. That can't be enough to give me any kind of "membership".

I was able to log in to Photobucket yesterday and downloaded all of my albums. I had my daughters HS graduation pics in there and needed to grab those before anything else changed. Will take a look at Imgur as another option but at least I have all of my pics stored in a couple of backups at home.

That isn't too bad for $700 shipped IMO. Shipping isn't cheap on something as large as that box will be. But for not a lot more there are a couple more for sale at the moment. Great basses!!! I have an 82 Blitz that is fantastic!!
