I have never seen a Ripper with 2 mudbuckers ever. Were they redesigned for the Ripper per the ad's claim?

One of those would certainly pique my interest.

One of my favorite bands of all time. Though not so much a hit machine they generated a catalog of brilliant material
that eclipsed their lesser stuff (such as it was) by far. Using some of the best side men in the world in various combinations certainly made their work shine.

And back when, when you wanted to get an idea of how good your home stereo really was all you had to do was put on a Steely Dan album.

I met him once in passing in Rudy's Music here in NYC, actually chatted for a while about gear.
I didn't find out who he was until after he had left... :-\

The original production run ended in 1972. Fender Japan reissued them in the 80's.

This one is made exactly like the prototype given to Harrison.

"Significantly, the rose Telecaster replicas feature pickups that were hand wound by famed Fender pickup master Abigail Ybarra, who broke her 2013 retirement to apply her expertise to this historic recreation’s pickups."

I had a 76 EB-3 with that pickup position - it still bucked mud with the best of them.

Mine was made in the Unsung Plant, Inchon.

I put a set of Hipshot HB6C - 1/2" Ultralite tuners on mine and they are excellent.

Rather than fill the existing holes I just put the original screws back in.

Mine was made in 2014 and, being new, had a sticker on the neck.

You can try looking it up here:

A guy over at TB just took delivery of one. These are apparently made in China.

So I finally got an idea of what this bass sounds like out front. This was a town Summer concert series show at their mid-town gazebo.
All stage sound, nothing reinforced. I was using my trusty Aguilar GS212 with a Thunderfunk 550b amp, very little EQ.
The Moses neck provides for a nice tight and even muscular tone. I am liking this pairing more and more.

Had 2 very capable subs on this night - drums and guitar.

P.S. Couldn't control the camera limiter from kicking in.....
