That work is pure magic! The future as we saw it, in 1963. How much?

Forty years ago, I paid 600 Euro for a bicentennial T-bird. Never liked it. Sold it. Got hold of an Epiphone Embassy -64, for 1 200 Euro. Liked it! Bought another one, just in case..., also from the 60's, much cheaper. Gave it to my bass playing son, together with a Fender P 65. He's satisfied. I'm satisfied. Everyone's happy. Son's got a modern Epiphone Embassy, too. He likes it a lot. So: What to do? Get hold of a 60's Tbird. That's what I would do if I were in your clothes. Go cat, go!

Gibson Basses / Re: New Epiphone Newport Bass.

Anyone who knows where to get hold of the kind of knobs that are used on the new Epiphone basses, as the Newport? Or, for that matter, the same knobs as where used on the 60´s Epiphone Batwings?

Let's not forget his fabulous songwriting partner, Hal David. Together they wroe fantastic tunes. First one I remember is the song Message to Martha. And then lots, and lots, and lots of great tunes.

Three years ago the band I was in, Shake Down in Umeå, lost our drummer. Lars Gillén lost his struggle against cancer. It was a hard blow, very much for the music we made, but as much for all the interesting conversations him and me had in the rehearsel studio. Lars read a lot, about four books a week, according to his wife. That's around 200 new books a year! Lars was an intellectual, but not an ordinary. He was a working class intellectual, which means he didn't fly off with different theories without having hiss foots firmly on the ground.
We both supported the Grateful Dead approach to music. Let is loose. See what happens. Roll with it. Or kill your darling in a mercifull way.
The clip I'm about to show you is from the last gig we did. Around the 26th of December, 2019. It shows Lars down to earth drumming. Nothing fancy. Just the way me myself prefer a drummers style. Lars was so tired, he said NO when it came to encore. I miss that guy, bad. His grave is close to my in-laws. Every time I'm there I stop and say Hello to Lars.
Hope you like it!

Hey, T-bird: Three cases, one bass... Guess you won't mind a little carrying, but still... Tell us!

Been hanging around since the Pit, yes. Though I'll turn 75 in a month I intend to hang around. See you!

Never ever connected T-birds with The Hollies. So this came as a real surprise. Eric Haydock was the bass player. The bottom got out of the group when he quit, think it was around -66:

Other Bass Brands / Epiphone batwing knob
« on: June 18, 2022, 12:52:50 PM »
The Epiphone Embassy that was released some - maybe two? - years ago does not have the Batwing head. But, it still got the same knobs as the Batwings from the 60's. If you've seen them, you know them. Like this: https://www.epiphone.com/en-US/Electric-Bass/EPIM96326/Sparkling-Burgundy

I'd really like to get hold of half a dozen of these knobs, especially now that they are back in production again. But I can't  find them! Anybody out there who's got any briliant ideas? Don't hesitate, send those ideas to me!

Thanks!

Dave, please don't tell us how your thoughts went sliding,  when you read Greco! We might get funny ideas!

So beautiful that I start looking at my Bach Entwhistle T-bird, wondering how it would look with a Tele head, instead of the P-bass head...
