Nice!!

Color is great and I like the revers headstock, not sure about the TRC but guess I could get used to it.

Wow, nice video! And what a great Motorhead song!

Lemmy and a Thunderbird is just a perfect rock'n roll combination if you ask me!

Hi shorties

Actually I don't like playing the short scale basses but as a Gibson fan and due to it's fantastic good look I got myself a Triumph some years ago. Posting a couple of pictures, the condition of the bass is quite OK, some few dings and some belt buckle wear. The hard sell case is pretty beaten up though.

Fender Basses / Re: maple board Precisions

Hi there,

I want to write an article about Precisions with maple fingerboards. Of course the sound's very spikey and I guess that's the reason they're used by bands like The Ramones, The Who and The Jam. What's your opinion about maple vs. rosewood and the artists playing them?

I 'am more of a Gibson man, but strangly enough I 'am definitively a maple fan. (Just received a maple '73 P-neck for my Fenderbird project, really looking forward to getting it togheter). Also three of my favourite bass players use/used the Fender P with maple neck, John Entwistle, Steve Harris and Phil Lynott.

I have never played a Mosrite but I think the design of the Mark I, II... models looks really cool, especially for guitars.

The bass looks quite good as well, here's one on the bay

Tell us about your basses, Tyrrell!

Oh, there’s nothing much to tell unfortunately.

I somehow lost the interest in bass stuff a few years ago, in a weak moment I actually got rid of a couple of basses which I ‘am regretting today. (e.g Rickenbacker 4001 and a Gibson EB3). The good news is that I kept my Gibson Triumph and Gibson RD Artist.

So after the bass have been lying on the shelf for some years my friend and I have decided to gather a band again and hopefully keep it going.

As you might understand I can’t start playing again without a proper bass.  :)
I have started to collect parts for my much wanted Fenderbird. I have been dreaming of a Fenderbird since I first saw the one hanging at Hard Rock Café in London about 10 years ago. A picture of it has been hanging in my living room since then. Hopefully this project will be ready within this year.

A NR Thunderbird is also on my wish-list and of course a EB3.

I also have a beaten up hollowed body Italian bass lying somewhere that I would love to see come alive again.

Not me! I didn’t even get a reply if he was willing to ship it overseas.

They only used that 2-point bridge on the Triumph from '71-72, and probably early '73, and then went to the 3-point after that.  These earlier ones didn't have the neck volute either.

That's interesting , my first Triumph had a neck without the volute (yes, it was broken, clued, broken, clued, broken and clued again) and it had the 3 point bridge. Unfortunatly I can not remember when it was manufactured , can't remember the serial number either.

The Triumph I have today has both the 3 point brigde and the voltute on the neck.  Serial number is 14XXXX (can't remember the four last digits) so based on what you say about the bridge and the volute I guess that indicates it manufactured sometimes between late 73-75?

wow, that's a fair price in my opinion.

Haven't seen a Triumph with that bridge before though. My Triumph has a 3 point brigde and that was also applied on my previous Triumph, never seen this type of brigde on prictures either.

It's even within driving distance for me!  Cool.

Cool, so you can pick it up and ship it to me if I win the auction  ;D

Welcome at the Outpost! And thanks for the link. BTW: Sometimes if you ask people are willing to ship to Europe. You have to ask first before you start to bid..

I will for sure check if he's willing to send this overseas.

Tyrell.. Something to do with the famous six wheeler F1 car?

That's correct. Even the P34 was introduceed long time before my days as an F1 fan, in my opinion it's one of the greatest cars of the F1 history. I 'am not so much into F1 today but the tyrell nick still sticks with me.

Hi everybody

My first post here so please bear with me. Just discovered this great forum some days ago (Thanks Bill).

Not sure if you have already seen this one but I just found this T-bird at no reserve on ebay. Need some work to get back in shape but I guess someone can do the job.

Unfortunatly he's not shipping outside the US.
