4005WB... the bass we wish had sounded nearly as good as it looks
Mine always sounded great.

My preferred era of horns is the '60s to early-mid '70s.

I like the old thicker horns .
The '60s to early mid '70s thicker horns or the later mid '70s and later thicker horns (relative to the modern thinner horns)?

Shame that it is lip synched, not a real performance.

I'd put toasters in it, and move the bridge PU back WAY closer to the bridge.  And, speaking of the bridge, I'd replace that Allparts one with a Hipshot A Style.

The "Ask Bob" column is actually pretty cool as Bob appears to be quite straightforward and honest in his answers, without being too slanted towards the marketing side of Taylor.

He did have an Ask Henry subforum at the Gibson forums for a while.
Kind of like Ask Bob in W&S?

My V63 came that way.
Interesting; I have not come across that AFAIK.  I've seen them like in photo A; yours is like that in photo B?

Treble cap is missing and the Fireglo is a bit unusual as it looks like they didn't burst the edges of the body. I'm thinking refin?
Treble cap is there (it's mostly hidden under one of the tone caps), but did these come stock with both volume controls closest to the selector switch, with the tone controls closest to the jack plate?  This one is certainly arranged that way.

Given it is basically a 330 body with CB,  all the parts are just where they would be on a 330 guitar.   RIC is simply putting a 24 fret 30.5" scale neck on a 330 body and that's that, folks.  This would be the perfect complement to a 330 guitar.

Definitely an Allparts tailpiece/bridge.  Brody also states that the pots are from 1973, but there seem to be a lot more things inconsistent with the harness for it being the same vintage as the bass, itself.  ???

Paul, from what I remember, special models (other than signature) were traditionally designated SPC. The S has always been reserved for down-trimmed basses.
My Jetglo 4004L is designated 4004L SPC.

Hope this helps.

That's really steep, IMO.  Probably, worth more like half that amount.
