The Outpost Cafe / Re: New Dodge commercial going viral...

I'm tired of all advertising. Summer is around the corner and I think I'm going to ditch my cable tv service for a while. Someone had to remind me that Fiat owns Chrysler. Does this mean car chases in the movies are all going to start looking like this?

This study makes so much sense. Clearly, is a master of the most intricate compositional skills.

I was just pulling your leg Uwe. My first fling was with a 19 year old when I was 17 and it worked out pretty nicely at the time. At 36, I can't say I'd turn down many 20 somethings that I come across these days.

Digging on fifteen year olds eh Uwe? Well I guess things are a little more laid back in Germany. I'd say 35 is a bit over the hill for child bearing. Hope if I get a chance to reproduce my mate will be 30 or under. A younger mother should help reduce the chances of having an autistic kid.

Could be a decent player. You'll have to do something about the G string bridge saddle.

Sounds like Jack's been taking lessons from hieronymous.

They also show cream and white as options on their site. I might ask if they can do a custom set in Zebra for me just for kicks.

It's too nice out this time of year to be posting blues tunes. Here's a song from a band I can't get enough of lately. It has the word blues in the title of the song. Close enough.

I sent an e-mail to DiMarzio inquiring about the X2N versus X2NB. Steve Blucher replied and advised me to go with (2) neck position D Activator X pups. Same dual blade design, but they apparently have a better low end. They worked out great with a similar vibe to a Gibson TB+.

That's interesting that he recommended two neck pickups. Do you miss the extra power on the bridge pup? I wonder if they would make the D activator X in cream. Could be a good match for my Epi LP. Speaking of LP basses, my custom LP build with Stambaugh is heading into final shaping and should be going out for finishing within a couple weeks. Between that and the return of my old P, I'm swimming in basses. I'll get some good group shots together when I have a chance. Maybe I'll get some of the girls from the newly opened "Tilted Kilt" located a few feet from my condo to pose with my basses. Should make for some exciting pics if I can pull it off.

The Outpost Cafe / Re: AC/DC Finished?

Hope Malcom is doing ok. AC/DC was a big part of my love affair with rock once I started growing hair on my sac. If they didn't make another album I wouldn't be too worried. I'll just listen to the stuff from their prime or turn on the radio.

Fender Basses / Re: Aged Antigua. Fugly or Fabulous? You be the judge

Steve said he'd have it done in no time. Ordering the pickguard material will be the longest part of the wait. About the Legends. They have their fans I'm sure but they are a little too flat for my tastes. The E string seemed more on the dead side and out of balance with the rest of the set. From what I've heard about Pyramid golds it seems they may be similar sounding and if you like those you might like the Legends.

Steve Morrill set me straight. The neck's not twisted but the ninth fret was seated a little on the high side so he'll tap it down best he can or dress it level. I'm going to have him set the bass up a bit better with La Bella 760 fs deep talkin' flats. Can't say I cared for the DR legend flats that I tried on there when I got the bass back. They're a little too lifeless and devoid of a rich harmonic overtone structure. He'll also make me a parchment guard with a thumb rest on the correct side. I didn't feel like messing with any expensive tort just yet and didn't want to take a gamble on a painted repro pick guard looking like a correct match. Oh yeah and new flat top knobs. Pics when it's done.

I waved to Joe Biden on his way out of Boston after commemorating the bombings from last year. His rather large cavalcade drove by Bukowsky's where I was having lunch and a beer (maybe a couple) after seeing Steve.

ah, yeah.......

Been meaning to leave this here for Uwe, just having a little fun with his bass.....

That's a nice pic he left on my computer screen  ;)

That bass is a wonderful match with your silver fox looks. You should get one for yourself. Grey levis couldn't hurt either. Some nice straight fits would offer a nice balance to all that cross dressing.
