Not sure if these have been up already but I figured it's a fitting tribute to our recently departed colleague. Glenn Cornick and a first generation double cut EB-0.

I don't know much about my German heritage. All I know is my Grandfather was from Chicago. His side of the family had already been in this country for at least a couple generations before he ran away from an unstable family and joined the Navy at 17 right at the start of the war. He had an Aunt named Rose Miller. She was a good friend of Armand Hammer from what I've heard and was quite wealthy when she passed.

The T87 was great. They stopped making them because of the mercury right? But God forbid if you don't use a lightbulb with plenty of mercury these days. At the same time the electric ballasts you have to use now are junk compared to the older ones. Honeywell makes a lot off the fiber for carpet I sell. Anso Nylon makes for a great carpet.

Maybe some of you have come across this site before.
Lots of free transcriptions and my European friend was nice enough to invite me to share one of my own.
The Albert King version of Born Under a Bad Sign. Have at it and enjoy the groove.

Glad everyone likes it. It's always neat to see an electric bass on black and white footage. I'm sure there have got to be some other old shots of rics beside this. Post it up if you can find them.

This has got to be one of the earliest videos featuring a 4001.

True that amptech. The chrome 2 pointers are flimsy as all get out but the nickel ones actually had some heft to them. Wish someone with access to a machine shop could crank out some replicas.

I can't really complain about the hipshot bridge for my 66' EB-3. It is made specifically for a two point bridge as you said Pilgrim and I believe it's a bit shorter lengthwise than the 3 point supertone. The posts are offset on my bass and the bridge is designed to work with either offset or straight posts. The Babicz looks much better on the Thunderbirds without hanging over the center block like a Hipshot would.

Will there be a version for vintage Gibsons with two point bridges?

I just saw Mitch Ryder on the Happy Together tour that Flo and Eddie (Turtles and Frank Zappa singers)headline. He was super cool and told the story about how his song Sock it to me got banned on radio because of being too sexually suggestive forcing him to change the lyrics. He sang the original version at the show and I don't know what the fuss was about.

There's an EB1 in there? Well now I have to check it out. Can the Dude playing James pull off the scream?

I dunno. I mean politics aside, the album I got with Meatloaf on it ain't so bad. Free for all. The only nuge album I own. I dig it.

Just to touch on Jerry, since he came up. He was not only good, he was a great musician. I'll grant you the Grateful Dead as a band can be tedious and often times sloppy but most of what made that band great when it was cooking was because of Jerry. He played great bluegrass banjo and a very unique style of pedal steel guitar. Check out the album Old and in the way, if you haven't already. The best examples of his pedal steel playing would be "Teach Your Children" by CSN which he guests on and "The Wheel" from his 1972 Garcia solo album. Oh yeah, Jerry played every instrument except for the drums on that first solo album and as much as I like Phil's playing Jerry does a much better job keeping things in the pocket with his bass playing. I personally find his singing voice to be very soulful and sweet.
Indeed, DMB blows hard.
