The Bass Zone / Re: Good Guys Guitars is closing

I'm not commenting on his integrity, just his pricing. There are two used/vintage dealers in my area whose integrity I (and many others) trust, both of them price their guitars and basses well below Good Guys.
It's cool Dave I wasn't implying that. I was just commenting on the fact that price is relevant. I've found most dealers pricing what I would consider high, but haven't the interest, experience or the money to really shop them and compare prices. So I'll just STFU  ;D

I've dealt with Kevin and he's always been straight up with me. I felt like I could trust him when it came to the authenticity of a vintage piece and that is worth something for sure. Sure dealers prices always seem high but you can get something that is priceless....peace of mind. Prices might come down and they should in this market, but as stated here a bass is worth what you're willing to pay for it. The consumers drove the prices up and now maybe we'll drive the prices down. ;)

QuoteThanks Chris, that looks interesting......I see Bass Nortrhwest is a dealer, I'll talk to Evan Sheely about it this coming Thursday or Friday

let us know how that turns out. I have an Airline wireless with bug and I lent it to a friend. I thought it colored the tone too much personally plus I really have no need for it but I do hate cables. I'm a dork and they get in the way....

I'm a marketing rep at AT&T. Which is a nice way of saying salesman. I work for the Yellow Pages & Yellowpages.com. I used to like the job, not so much right now. It's a tough business climate right now. Hard to convince business owners that in a tight economy they need to increase their advertising or at least keep it where it is. We do the best we can and I'm grateful I'm working!!! It's helped me fund a lot of equipment over  the years.....

Ok, I get it. This is what you shouldn't do as the bass player in a band. ;)

Scott,
Anywhere else I can hear some clips other than I-Tunes?

I really dug the "Raiders" I used to watch a show called "Where The Action Is" and they were the unofficial hosts I think. I read an old review once that referred to them as hard rock LOL but I guess some of those tunes would've been called that back in those days like "Hungry" and "Just Like Me". They were the first band that started me thinking I wanted to be a rockstar....That never happened but I did start noticing the  bass lines. I guess you could say they were my earliest influence. I see my Mark Lindsay hosts a classic rock radio show up in the Northwest and the Raiders still gig.
