Apparently the asterisk said" "*No drummers were harmed in the making of this manual."  ;D

That video is pure trash, imo.  Plus, correct, 100% chatGPT scripted-type of narration.

Thanks all...it has been a rough year, well, the second half anyway.  It was weird not picking up the phone on Christmas Day and talking to him.

Figured I would dust this off to start the new year.

I've only ever played a Smith once, but it played and sounded great. I'm not in love with the body shape, but that top is gorgeous.

Quote from: westen44 on December 05, 2025, 02:04:32 AMI hope my bringing up Sydney Sweeney in the Stones video didn't do anything to affect the purity and moral steadfastness of this site.  If so, it was unintentional.  I'm only interested in the music.

Wait, there is purity and moral steadfastness here?

Quote from: Alanko on November 20, 2025, 10:28:03 AMJust a thought, but did Dave ever post on TDPRI? I think there was a DaveW over there.
He did, but I was never over there so no idea how involved he was over yonder.

It is a suprisingly touchy pedal.  And can get pretty noisy.  I think I settled somewhere around the Roundabout preset in the manual with it with some twiddling.  I am also a big King's X fan so I was morally obliged to try it.  I am also not a fan of the teeny tiny knobs, and just a minor touch of the volume knob can get crazy.

I use it at home and occasionally when I jam with a drummer friend who also likes King's X, but I don't normally have it on my pedalboard for gigs.

That....is drool-worthy.  I have a DP pedal as well and takes a bit of fiddling, but that sounds (and looks) great.

Although he and I didn't see eye to eye on certain things, be it sometimes politics, or websites, or our favorite mock-argument-topic 'vintage vs. modern basses' (he pretended to disown me once when I bought not one but two Moudluses/Moduli), he would very rarely belittle someone for having a different opinion if they could back it up a little bit on why.  Not that it never happened, but it was fairly rare in real life, anyway.

It still seems to be acting a little wonky, I got the 429 Too Many Requests error yesterday briefly, and on occasion it still doesn't load promptly.  When I have some time, I will get online with tech support and see if there is some underlying reason.

Quote from: hollowbody on November 02, 2025, 10:26:04 AMWas that he one with the nonfunctioning fuzz circuit that they couldn't figure out about 25 years ago?  I saved and saved, and when I finally had enough cash it was sold.

This one is a just a standard slothead EB-0.  Just a tone and volume, so I think no fuzzy fuzzy.
