Daughter and me are even attending his book tour show in Glasgow... Alice is the musician she has seen more than any other it turns out...
She also attended the Geddy book tour...

Musically, presently have Tedeschi Trucks on a loop... all of their recordings...
Derek Trucks has soooo got that Duane Allman "vibe" nailed...

... and raising his eyebrows everytime you mention a one-time notorius candle empresario...
On the subject of Rockpile, my tour-shirt finally surfaced from amongst the merry throng... far too small to be worn again though... I think...
And a variety of tattoos continue to appear on my skin...

I don't get on here too often at present with so much I'm trying to drag up to spec again but did want to post something on the 23rd but was not in a position to log in...
Dave's birthday popped up on my FB feed and I raised a glass to him, wherever he may now be, and yes, I do miss him...

I've not logged in for a while (Black Dog can be a BITCH) and I checked back and the last PM Dave responded to was 9th July when I sent him some photos of a Ned Callen bass I'd just picked up...
A standing "joke" was that I'd send him an image of Castle Aarghhhh every time I passed the Castle, which is also my family's origins (Stewart of Appin)...
I had been aware of his numerous ailments for several years...
A question, Keith, if I may... what has become of his elkhound, Joy...? I'll PM...
Yes, with a dram in hand now, I will raise a toast to his memory... and in keeping with our respective sense of humour...

"I'm getting better..."
Slainte Mhath, David Westheimer... the world is a darker place... well, it is, it's dark over here right now...!

Same age as my Peter Cook Custom...
I may just do basic stabilisation of the fin and leave as is...

Quote from: gearHed289 on June 23, 2025, 08:59:35 AMBig Steven Wilson fan here. Porcupine Tree's In Absentia, Fear of a Blank Planet, and Deadwing are some of the best prog albums since 80s Crimson IMO. And his earlier solo stuff is right on par with those. The first time my wife and I saw him live, he brought me to tears with the song "Routine". We're going to see him on 9/17.

Enjoy...!
Made a mistake with the above reply... only just listened to "Fear" for the first time yesterday... weird... exceptional material, imho...

WTF...?!
I'm so astonished that I had never knowingly heard of Steven Wilson or Porcupine Tree or his production skills, especially regarding 5.1 and ATMOS, etc...
Slowly working my way through the canon of his work and making various (sometimes expensive) purchases...
I now realise I had known of his material but never connected the dots...
Whatever... :o

Just watched Classic Albums... something called "Machine Head"... not sure if the band went anywhere after that...

Ah... living the dream in Scotland...
Also having a mother that was born in Vancouver BC before being repatriated to Scotland because of some financial fracas in 1930, gives me the right to claim Canadian citizenship...!
My sister holds duel nationality...
Presently awaiting Bernie Sanders to ask the good people of Vermont if they wish to stay in the Union or become a Province, as was discussed in the State prior to Biden's win...
No idea of the political leanings of the other 12 States that border the Provinces but wouldn't that make a pretty flip of the switch...

I've been veggie for circa 35 years now... I'm 65 years old...
I first visited a slaughter-house when I was about 6 years old and saw the processing of sheep and cows from walking into that room to leaving it on a hook...
Pornography and violence in the real-world is more legally available and viewed by members of the public than many of the practices utilised by the "food production" industry... almost a "secret society"...
Try witnessing the practices utilised in Halal and Kosher abattoirs and feel no empathy for the demise of a living creature in such a "brutal" fashion, and then go enjoy your roast...
Most of you would struggle to retain a full stomach after witnessing such things first-hand...
And a "joke"...
What happens when vegetarians breed...?
The produce vegans...
My daughter has been vegan for most of her 31 years...
I am proud of her, and under some "Gods", that is a sin...
To each their own...
