Yes.  That is probably my next move...in fact, I have had one sitting in my parts box for many years!

Hi group:  I bought one of the original runs of the Bachbird Non-Reverse TH-1.  I had always intended to do some customization, and I finally got around to it.  I repainted the headstock and put a bogus truss rod cover on.  I added Gotoh Res-o-lite GBR 640 tuners, as well as a Lull pickup and tailpiece claw.  I got one of Scott Dasson's excellent pickguards and put it on, too!  Hope you like it.  I took me a while to decide on a paint type and color for the headstock, I can tell you!  Plays and sounds great!  I'm happy, as this is the closest that I could get to a 60's NR.  Best wishes, Rick.

I would say that one option would be to go to a reputable music store and see what they have in stock.  If they don't have anything, I would ask them to call their Epiphone contact to special order a case specifically with the "reverse" cutout.  That is how I got my original "reverse" cutout case for my Epi T-Bird, although at that time I didn't order it one way or the other, as it didn't matter to me what type of case that I got from them (either reverse cutout or "open")...  I wouldn't try to do it through an online store, as they generally can't check their stock before shipping to confirm what you would be getting!

Dear Basvarken and BaCH Brothers:

Warning.  It's a good thing that the Epiphone case that Basvarken received (and customized) for his BaCHbird was the one made with a cutout specifically for a "reverse" Thunderbird.  The guy at the Basvarken's store was indeed wrong (but not just for the reason mentioned).  The Epiphone Thunderbird case that DOES NOT HAVE the specific cutout for a "reverse" (i.e. the one with just an open rectangular space for the bass body) DOES NOT FIT the BaCHbird.  It is too short.  The Epi case made with a specific cutout for a "reverse" T-Bird is longer, and will fit a BaCHbird, if customized.

I too wanted a hardshell case to protect my BaCHbird, so I went to my local music store to purchase an Epi T-Bird case with the "open retangular space" for the body.  Upon inspection, it was immediately clear that the BaCHbird was too long for the case.

Fortunately, I already owned a hardshell case for my Epiphone Reverse Thunderbird that had the specific "reverse" cutout.  I was therefore able to use the new "rectangular space" case for my "reverse" Epi T-Bird bass, and I will customize my old "reverse" cutout case to use with the BaCHbird, as Basvarken did so beautifully and effectively.

Hope this saves you guys some possible headaches.  Please make sure that any Epiphone T-bird case that you order or purchase for your BaCHbird is one that has the cutout for a "reverse" T-Bird.

The guy at the store assured me the case would fit a Non Reverse Thunderbird. The right dimensions, etc. And from the pictures I saw I did not forsee any problems.

Yesterday the case arrived. Of course the guy of the store was wrong.
It had a shaped interior. Shaped for the Reverse Thunderbrid. The case in the pics was not shaped...

So I had two options:
1- send it back and start the quest for a case all over again.
2- take out the toolbox...

So I took out the toolbox and took out the compartment of the body. Tore off the plush. Cut the polystyren to shape. And glued it all back together again.

So now it fits:

The address of BaCH is on the invoice, not the Citibank.  Also, my bank said they needed an actual account number.  It costs about 40 bucks to do a transfer, even if it is not successful.  My bank warned me to get it right before I attempted to make it go through.

I got my invoice from Roman at BaCH.  When I went to my bank to try to do the transfer, they said I needed the address of the bank in the Czech Republic (the city, at least), as well as an account number.  My bank said that for transfers from the U.S., the SWIFT and IBAN numbers were not enough info to guarantee a successful transaction, although in the EU they probably are...Has anyone in the U.S. had a successful transaction yet?  If so, please let me know what I need to do.

Hi,  I got the e-mail (actuallty three) from Roman today, but I was not in the first 50 on the list...  Maybe he is reading from the bottom of the list, like the Japanese do.  Also, I got an e-mail that was intended for "Gary".  If Gary is out there somewhere, let me know and I will forward you the message.

To All BaCHbirdmen (and Gals!):

I am embarrassed to report that somehow I got an e-mail from Roman at Bach telling me to be patient, and that my bass was likely coming sometime at the end of February or March.

I was the second to the last on the overflow list sent out by Rob (although maybe they work from the bottom of the list going up in the Czech Republic), so I really think that a lot of you should be way ahead of me on this.

I hope that this means that Bach is making more than 50, but my gut feeling is that it is just a mistake.  I am just going to stay laid back and see what happens.  I will keep everyone informed, because I don't want anyone to get pissed at me for getting ahead of them on the list.  Hopefully, in the end, there will be enough for all.  Best regards, Rikkimax

I would be more than happy to take your place in line, but I know that there were some others in front of me. 
I don't want to cut in improperly, but I am still very interested in getting one of these things.

If by chance a bachbird arrives at your doorstep, I will be glad to buy it off you if no one ahead of me on the list wants it.   If I can figure out how to move up on the list fairly, I would do that too!

Rob, are you by chance keeping track of who is still in and who is out, or are you sick of that role???
