$4,425.00 + tax CDN is the price quoted on their website. Nice but not a chance at that price.

I was on my way to the store to buy this when I got a phone call from my boss at the time telling me thanks for all of my hard work over the past 16 years, but your job had been eliminated.

Needless to say, I turned around and went home and had to tell my wife and kids that I couldn't consciously buy this bass knowing that I now longer had a job.

Oh well. These are still super cool Guild's.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

The Good: My wife ordered a copy of the book without me knowing off Amazon.com (thank you dear).

The Bad: Delivery is 1-3 months. Unbelievable!!!!

The Ugly: I only have 2 more months to wait.

What the heck is that protruding up off the neck pickup beside the E string?

After Chris P. posted this thread, Thornton posted the news at TB. I see that it's now a huge thread, complete with the usual Fender-hating trolls and dreamers with unrealistic expectations.

I mentioned the topic and they went nuts on TB. When I last looked there were just under 700 posts to the thread with it having been viewed approx 47,000 times. All that in less than 2 weeks.

Lots of comments and dreamers posted their wants and wishes. The way prices are today for new Fender products, I'll continue to buy used when the urge hits.

I also have a Kent 833 bass that has a bad tuner. Could you please tell me where you were able to find replacement tuners. I've been searching the internet and am having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. Thanks

Dave, I have a couple of spare original tuners and ferrules from an 833, which tuner are you needing?

Well seeing that all of my Photobucket photos from previous posts are no longer available since I deleted my PB account a few months back I thought that I'd repost this from page 1 of this thread.

This is my 1973 Burgundyglo 4001 Rickenbacker bass serial # MD1582.

It was one of the last made before the transition took place. It has checkered binding, full with MOP inlays, toaster neck p/u, horseshoe RI bridge pickup with original 73 rectangular surround, split bridge tailpiece, Grover wave tuner machines. Dark Burgundyglo with minor belt rash on the back of the body down to the bare wood. Minor crack in pickguard between edge of the toaster p/u and the upper side of the pickguard.

She's been gone for the past 11.5 yrs and I would love to get her back. I have a feeling it's in the Maryland or DC area. I do own MD1591 which is identical in features to MD1582.

Would sure love to get her back. Please let me know if you ever happen upon it.

Cheers,

TD

PS - Thx (again) to Dave for providing this forum.

Dave, I deleted my Photobucket account after I setup my account on Imgur's site during this past winter so I would have to assume all of my PB photos are non-retrievable and that I'd have to start from scratch if I was to use their hosting service again.

Gibson Basses / Re: NBD

Walked into a bricks and mortar store near me to buy a single guitar string...there was an EPI Pro T-Bird that had a card that said "sale" on it. I asked how much they wanted, and ended up walking out with it for a really good price. Owner said they had a major disagreement with Gibson/Epiphone, and severed the relationship. Turned out to be an expensive single guitar string.

Bass is very well constructed, plays great, and has a pretty much flawless finish.

Can anyone tell me what the controls do exactly? There was no manual.

As I look on the web, everyone is out of the EPI Hard T-Bird Case...

I had to wait 3+ months for my Epi T-Bird Vintage Pro case to arrive.

They have opened several franchised locations locally, and the franchisee was sued by the parent company last December for not making the required payments. Not a good situation. Plenty of good places to get coffee and pastries here without patronizing a multinational chain that owns everything from Burger King to Popeye's. At least there have been no poo-flinging incidents here.
.

Touchet Dave, the word "duck" now has a whole new meaning.

Tim Horton's coffee has gotten pretty bad since they were bought by Restaurant Brands a couple of years ago. I use to spend a lot of money there, now I won't spend a cent and I'm not the only one who feels this way in our country.

Took my MX-5 GT out of winter storage a couple of weeks ago. Great to have it back on the road again.
