Great lookin F-Bird! I liked someone's idea to put a clear pickguard on it. Maybe with an etched bird insignia!

I find boobies quite soothing and stress relieving. Like petting a pussy cat. Plus they make great targets!  :o

Leons bass had custom inlays and he also used it during the reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd days. By then it was refinished and modified with a different bridge (Schaller 460?) and EMG pickup:

And check out the funky "upper horn extender".

Too bad about the EMG. I LOVED EMGs for a long time. It's only been in the past 3-4 years that I've "deactivated" all my basses except for my fretless Kramer lumie. That thing sounds too good to mess with.

Back on topic.... Anyone try fitting a proper non-rev pickguard on a Bach yet?

Gibson Non Revs are neck-heavy too. Like hell and much more than any Rev Bird. Great to hear they turned out so well!

I'm surprised. I've never played a non rev, but I would have assumed they would be better balanced due to having something resembling an upper horn.

Hmmm.... not sure what to make of that note from management...

I do have to say that the singer for one of my favorite bands - MUSE - is frequently way off mic, and still sounding strong. I really don't think he's singing to tracks just based on watching and listening to the phrasing, etc.

On a related note, I know some guys on the Crue tour who told me that Nikki's "amp rack" contains a Pro Tools rig. And it's NOT there for recording....

That's the one drawback about the TB+ pups - they're strangely noisy for an alleged humbucker. Both my LP and my Fenderbird have a pretty loud buzz, depending on your orientation to the amp (or the computer monitor). Way more than any of my single coil basses (Rickenbackers). Kind of a drag. I have a session tomorrow, and I'm going to try to use the F-Bird, but I'm bringing my Duncan equipped 5 string Guild Pilot just in case the engineer can't take the noise.

As far as your out of phase issue - personally, I wouldn't worry about it. You say it sounds like two different basses depending on which pup you use. That's great! It is what it is, enjoy it! I found the same thing with the aforementioned 5 string. A few years ago I routed the bridge pup area to fit a dual coil soapbar. Neck pup sounds great - very P bass-ish. Soapbar sounds great with a StringRay vibe. But together, they don't really compliment each other. It's pretty much one or the other. Oh well!  ;D

I didn't make the first 50, I kinda wanted a "naked" one, and my "project time" is mostly devoted to my car these days, but at this price, I'll take one if I move up the list.  ;D

Interesting. I never knew they had different names for Dodge and Plymouth colors. I also assumed that Hemi orange and Gomango were the same. Sorry, Ford guy here!

Well, not Hello Kitty pink..................Metallic Pink or that Mopar color called  Gomango.

Gomango is orange. They did have Panther Pink though.

Good points, for sure! Get 'em while you can. They sound and look awesome! I was thinking of a pair of gold ones in case I ever decide to do an Explorerbird.

LOL!!! I love that! And being in a cover band, I see it on a weekly basis. Unbelievable what some of these chicks go out with.
