Gibson Basses / Re: BaCHbird

Same here - waiting for (1) white fauxbird.

Headstock logo - I do plan to try and get rid of it, even if I end up re-finishing the whole front of the headstock. I have a Gibson TRC that I plan to put on there, assuming it fits.

E-mail sent.....

Muzz worked for Michael Jackson briefly after leaving LC, then dropped off the face of the Earth. I heard he joined the New York Fire Department, but have no idea if that's true.

I met Corey Glover about 12 years ago, and he mentioned then that Muzz was training to be a firefighter. I liked Muzz a lot on those first two records, but I think Wimbush just buries him in both his playing and his tone(s). I got the new live in Paris DVD for X-Mas. Those guys are just SICK players! It's almost like watching Rush or Crimson in a completely different style. I'm like cheering out loud at the TV!

They were cool. One of those bands that my friend's older brother had the record and we listened to it all the time. Then in high school, the cool guy down the street who had all the weird Kraut rock and cut-out bin specials had it. And recently, my mailman burned me a copy. I always thought they were kind of in that 70s Uriah Heep category.

None of Gillan's witticism and hilarious puns ("There was a football team from down where I lived in Perfect Street. The Perfect St. Rangers. What a great team! This is a song about them ..." and then DP play Perfect Strangers!)

Uwe

LOL! I still use the "cunning linguist" one I picked up from him in '84. Along with Lynott's "any of you girls like a little MORE Irish in ya?" Hey, I'm an entertainer!

Looks perfect on a Monkey Bass.  :P

LOL! That blue one is mighty purdy though.

That modded 8-string bridge that was on that eBay bass was pretty cool. Maybe Hipshot should make an 8-string version of theirs!

Wadda ya mean maybe?  :) I'd buy that in a heartbeat if they did. Even just a bridge that fit the stock tailpiece would be great.

How about a '93 4003S/8 - only mod I've done was to recently have the string order reversed (long after this picture was taken):

And as heard on the

I seem to recall that bass was almost mine! You should be happy that I stumbled across the fireglo one.  ;D

Strings were already reversed. I removed the mute pad/screws and added vintage knobs and strap locks. An absolutely unbelievable bass that stays in tune amazingly well. Wish it had an 8 saddle bridge.

The mapleglo is extra nice but I just couldn't live with that super-narrow string spacing.

+1

Mapleglo looks so much better with black plastic, though I prefer chrome metal.

Almost all the famous Ric bass players have had irreversible mods done to their basses. McCartney's psychedelic paint job and then his overzealous sanding, Squire with the shaved down body and cream refin, Glover with the slanted double J pickups, Jon Camp's mods on his Great White, Geddy's bridge mods, Lemmy of course... the list goes on.

1989 4003S. Hipshot D-tuner, 4004L TRC, '92 toaster, '06 high gain, mirror PG, vintage knobs, Hipshot aluminum bridge, Schaller strap locks. Perfection!

G8... hmmm..... I don't know why they didn't just make a better looking GTO??? Speaking of which, my instructor smashed up his '05 GTO pretty good at Road America this past Sunday. It was very WET! Lost it at the kink... I had one off road excursion on Saturday, but no damage done. Doing 115 MPH in the rain with a 90 degree turn closing in on you is... interesting!

From what I understand, the Camaro is a go, but the Z28 version is on hold.

My "half evil" Mustang.

What a waste.... full-width inlays and checkerboard binding.....  :-[

I got an invoice today from B&CH. Now I need to figure out how to pay it.  ???
Looks like about $335 US including shipping (259.01 Euro). Anyone know how to wire the money?

And I'll need to do something about that pickguard. I'll be putting on a pair of late model TB+ pups covered with 70's chrome covers.
