Gibson Basses / Best place to buy Hipshot products?
« on: February 16, 2008, 03:13:13 PM »
Hey guys,

Who has the best price on Hipshot stuff? I seem to remember someone mentioning a good place to buy from, but I can't remember who it was.

Thanks!

My Greo T-Bird looks exactly like Rob's. As others have stated, the pickups are excellent. I also like the neck profile.
I've been thinking about selling it, though. I've been on a short-scale kick lately and it isn't getting much love. Plus, I just bought one of those $699 SG Supremes.

I bought an SG Supreme from him and I'm picking it up on Friday. I'm just thankful he doesn't have any sunburst SG's listed or I'd be selling my blood right now.  ;D

Hey Marc......I used to live in Franklin(or Hoosierville, as I fondly refer to it). His store is in Fishers, right?

Great (slightly distorted!) solo from Steve Swallow with Gary Burton on the Chick Corea tune "Open Your Eyes, You Can Fly" (near the end):

That solo is pretty groovy. Are those Dimarzio's in his EB2?

Mike Watt is the man. This is a good example of him playing and singing:

Gibson Basses / Re: Great score on a reissue SG Bass
« on: February 09, 2008, 11:24:09 AM »
Congratulations on snagging one! I keep thinking about it since the maple should give it more punch than an all mahogany short scale. Maybe. Just maybe.

Thanks, Dave. I can't wait to play it. I ran into some financial trouble last year and had to sell my heritage cherry SG. I missed it immediately.
Now I need to sell something. My Greco T-Bird isn't getting a lot of love, so it's probably going to be next on the chopping block.
I'll post my opinion of how it compares to my old SG.
