I really like the lyrics to this, although the song wasn't written by Willie Nelson or Billy Joe Shaver--the two people who have recorded the song.  But it fits them anyway.  Anything that cuts down fake country music from Nashville is fine with me.

I wouldn't put down Mississippi, possibly my favorite Southern state.  (I'm not from there.)  Just the Faulkner association gives Oxford prestige.  I only visited there once, but the Ole Miss campus is the prettiest I've ever seen.  I've lived and worked in Jackson, Gulfport, Port Gibson, and Clarksdale, but Oxford was the most picturesque, IMO.  I realize Clarksdale has great significance for the blues.  But I never got to check any of that out.  It was a time in which I was having to work day and night.  The only thing I saw of Clarksdale was my office, my hotel room and the restaurant where I ate.  It was just a temporary job.  If I ever get a chance to go back. I'd love to see some of the blues-related areas.

And is there any better location for this label than Oxford. MS? I rest my case.

I wouldn't be able to think of a more ideal location.

Could there ever be a better country or bluegrass band name than "Fat Possum?"  8)

There is a record label in Oxford, Mississippi called "Fat Possum."

That makes a lot more sense.  The article I read, although an honest effort, seems to have left out some pertinent details.

My 55 yo wife has been wearing hearing aids for a year or two now. She blames me for her hearing loss.  My hearing is extraordinarily good considering the abuse my ears take. And strangely, they produce very little wax. I've never had to have them cleaned out. Doctor said some people are just like that.

I've never been sure how all that works.  I'm pretty sure Noel redding once said that his doctor told him that excessive wax had protected him from hearing loss.  Hendrix would joke a lot at concerts that they were going to turn down because "we really care about your ears."  Of course, in reality they were doing just the opposite.

Yeah, I'm good at nurturing Völkerfreundschaft.

I was able to look her up.  It seems Sylvie's life has had its share of soap opera-type aspects to it.

Whitford is the better guitarist.  I wouldn't dare say that in front of my friend who is such an Aerosmith fan.  In fact, what I just said--I didn't say that.

I don't think anyone would expect men in their 40s and up to be fans of Ms. Eilish, or even know who she is. Certainly not her target audience.  ;D She's not something I'd listen to, but I do respect her and hope she continues with her success. She is inspiring to a lot of youngsters. I don't watch awards shows of any kind, but I saw some pics and it was nice to see her smiling for a change.  :P

Tool won "Best Metal Performance" and Rival Sons were nominated in two categories, so there's that.

I don't think Billie Eilish was the problem.  But some of those other performances were pretty boring.  This was made all that much more difficult by the fact that they had no choice but to be festive half the time and somber the other half because of Kobe Bryant's death.

"Fortunately, I don't need this product, and I doubt if anyone else here does, either."

I think it is very brave and fortright of you, Michael, to freely admit that condoms are a thing of the past for you, way to go (AA applause in background). These things are hushed up all too often.  :rimshot:

That said, my last use of condoms dates back something like 30 years. Partnering with women your own age for substantial periods of time does have its benefits!  8)

Actually, I may have spoken too soon about the hearing aids.  My grandfather and father had them.  And I have tinnitus pretty bad even now.  I'm assuming this was from playing in bands without ear plugs for the first few years.

The grammys mean even less to me than the RRHOF.

I long for the good old days of Milli Vanilli.

It may be even worse than you realize, though.  I watched a lot of it to see if a band I liked got a Grammy.  Finally, I just had to turn it off.  It was just outright painful to watch.  I did feel some sympathy for Alicia Keys who was trying as hard as she could to host it.

Fortunately, I don't need this product, and I doubt if anyone else here does, either.  But I think this is funny.  The look on that woman's face in the commercial is priceless.

Having to pay a pest control company $250 to get one of those out of your attic is not a fun thing to do.  I asked the guy where he would put it and he said deep into the woods.  As long as it's far enough away to never come back here, I'm fine.  They are noisy.  My sister once had one in her garage, too.

I would be interested in going back to Silvie who I had never even heard of until this thread.
