Make a gasket out of pickguard material. It will raise it and maintain a good mechanical connection.

I hadn't looked closely at the specs, but notice the neck and bridge pickups are quite different. Different winding, magnets, resistance, and capacitor values on the tone controls. Also state that they use CTS pots and Orange Drop caps.

The article was about guitar pickups but I figured they must have something in common with the Vintage Pro bass pickups since they are called ProBucker Bass #760.
Even if they were designed in the U.S., it doesn't mean they can't be made to spec from a Chinese manufacturer and perhaps even the same factory that made the initial run of so called China buckers since there's no way to know for certain. Anyway, here's the article.

Epiphone built a new factory to make guitars, could they be making these pickups there? Could the Chinabuckers have been built in that factory to test manufacturing, and quality control, and sold them un-named to test acceptance?

Anyone want to take one out and look at the bottom?

Yep, that's it, except the can I have is about half that size.

Listening to a review of the Embassy, that thing sounds fantastic too. I can deal with the extended upper horn but I miss the batwing headstock.

Yeah, if it had a batwing headstock I'd already have ordered one. As it is I can do without. Maybe they'll do it in the future. (hope hope)

The air is thick with the smell of Isopon P38 body filler. Every last dink, dent and abrasion is being lovingly filled with car body filler.

JB Weld has a product that acts like car body filler but is made for wood. Can be found at any home improvement store. I used it on a crack in the front porch, I think it is stronger than the car filler.

I didn't think we worried about that here.

Mojohobo- I've always wondered about that - never had a bass w/ 2 tone controls. How do you like to use them?

Cut the highs on the bridge pickup and cut the volume slightly on the neck pickup.

I finally plugged in mine today. I really like having two tone controls. Can't wait to hear it in my gig rig, but with festival season over we have nothing lined up until next summer.

MS has stopped developing the platform. That's OK with me; there are probably enough units built and unsold to last the rest of my life.

I liked the bits concerning Ken Burns and Frank Zappa.

I just bought a new laptop a few weeks ago to get immersed in the whole Windows 10 experience. My Windows phone is my first Win 10 device, and I like how it shares my calendar with my desktop. When I am doing a job on-site I'll put it in the calendar and it will be there when I do the billing on my desktop. The new laptop is meant to replace my home desktop and occasional work. I just returned from a week in DC and I love this laptop. It has a 14" touch screen,, it's light and the battery lasts all day. Bakery technology has really advanced in the last few years. I can fold the screen flat and it becomes a tablet. When I want to type I can unfold it and have a keyboard, and can still scroll the screen with a swipe of the finger. And I am going to put my stuff in "the cloud".
