Title: T-bird Sweden
Post by: Stjofön Big on January 24, 2008, 04:46:01 AM
Hi! Couldn't help but showing this fine little collection. It's not mine. Unfortunately! These basses belongs to a private collector here in northern Sweden. I just thought, this picture is to nice not to be seen...

"I just thought, this picture is to nice not to be seen..."

Exactly, but why are they then not seen in your post?  ???  ;)

Nope, the collector is, in fact, two. 10-15 years ago I did an interview with them, concerning their collection, for the newspaper I work for. They are twins. Done a couple of other stuff on them too, very nice and humble guys, but they want to lay low nowadays. They've done only two exhibitions of their collection, latest was six years ago, at the Music Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. I got the pic as a teaser, when the twins fixed me up with a T-bird IV, 1976 model. And a teaser it was, as the five basses all are 60's. That pic has never let me have peace! I'm always starving for a red T-bird II, reversed model, and blaming me for opportunities missed. Who ain't?

What, Uwe? Can't you see them? I am not really surprised. When it comes to computers, I'm a fool on the hill. But it seems as Machahan can see it? Should I post the pic to you, Uwe, so you can get it in the Last bass?

Since the pic is an attachment to the post, it looks like the board requires that you are signed in to view it.  Doesn't show up if you are viewing as a guest, but it appears once you sign in.

Nice collection!  I was trying to figure out what color that last NR bird is - golden mist poly?

Yes, I'd sat Golden mist. I do not know whether that colour is original, but I can check with the twins. Another question, meanwhile: How does one act to get a photo in? Obviously I do not know...javascript:void(0);

Nice flock of II's. Ah yes, the Åhden brothers. It has been quiet around them for a while.

But I am logged in. I still see nothing. No icon, no pic, no attachment, nothing to click on.

What are you guys clicking on? Where is it?

There is a photo, an attachment uploaded to the forum (not on an external site), directly beneath the text in his first post. Must be something in your browser settings if you're logged in and still can't see it.

Still see nothing ... never had that happen before ... is there anything Staffan did that other people don't do when posting a pic or are you all continuously posting pics that I don't see?  ???

I could see the hawk in George's Outpost Cafe thread. How is that different from how Staffan posted his pic (which he has meanwhile sent me as an email, tack!)?

Well, you see, Uwe. I've got that Magic touch. That dear old Magic Touch. The Touch that is to much, a Touch Too Much (as another pair of siblings, way down yonder, used to say).
But really; I do not know what I did. I might try it again! Be warned! You may not see it coming, but you'll know when it's there!

My pics are hosted at Photobucket so they wouldn't apply to not seeing one hosted here.

Three Revs and two Non Revs, some of them in rather garish colors! There is a bit too much color for me, in fact I prefer the tobacco burst one - it's the most standard color of the TB, I know, and I've complained in the past about having too many TBs in that tone (I have 4 to be exact: a Rev II, a Non Rev II, a 1997 and an Orville), but somehow that burst tone gives more depth than just a plain one color finish, no matter how nice the color. That said, I like the seafoam green, never cared much for gold or the cardinal red and I've tired a little of the pelham blue.  :-[

All TBirds should be girlie burst anyway or have stripes or be black or vintage yellowed ... (from left to right: Orville Made by Gibson, Studio V, GoW Zebrabird, George's 1986 one pup Jap Ltd Ed, girlie refinned TB IV 1965, Blackbird, 1964 TB II and cherry Studio IV)

Naw, better just girlie burst!

When George still owned it he could have worn it with his old outfit for you!

I think we need to see some more pics from his past, that is of course if he'll share them with us.

This one is pretty scary due to the members only jacket... I have no problem having worn 4" heels, but that jacket embarrasses me to no end!

I need to find and scan more of my old pics. They bring back nice memories in my old age.  ;D

Hey, nothing wrong with that at all, and who knows *maybe* if I can get some old pix scanned you'll see me "back in the day"......   I wouldn't let that jacket worry you too much George, or even the 4" heels, that was "then" and it was the style.
