Title: Tux anyone? Clueless seller on eBay

Looks like a real Tuxedo, only missing the handrest. The seller apparently doesn't know what he has.

Too bad they turn yellow. They must have looked awesome when they were bright white.

It's still nice despite the yellowing.

Seller's probably clueless but I think there will be too many interested (and knowledgeable) bidders for this to stay low.

Those Tuxedo basses always reminded me of Prince.

How about a Blackstar?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320265864845&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=011

The seller pictures the COA, but never mentions Blackstar in the listing.

Yes he does, in the description area right below the blue top area it says Edition: BLACKSTAR. Not prominent, but he knows what he has.

I remember when you could buy a Black Star for $400.  Passed one up about, oh, 10 years ago or so.  I remember Ray Duke got one from Dude for $600 and Lowell got his Tux on Ebay for around that price too.  I'm sure this one will go for over 2k.

OK, I stand corrected. It does say Blackstar in that top area that I never look at. The seller knows what he has, but he could promote it better, maybe by stating "Blackstar" in the title.

Yeah, you'd think he would want to maximize his profit. But it should get up there anyway.

I seem to remember somebody finding a Tux on Craigslist for about $750. Or maybe it was a Blackstar. Ilan, was that you?

That was me and it was my Shadow  :) The seller also offered a bike and a small practice amp as free bonuses.

Ah, right. It's all coming back...the listing had a small dim picture but you enlarged and lightened it and figured out what it was.

That's right... To me the best part was that even when I posted about it with a direct link to this amazing find, writing that I have difficulties because the seller won't return my emails and will not ship even to another state in the continental US (let alone Israel...), everyone stepped aside until the deal was finally done.

Did the Blackstar sport an ebony board by any chance? It looks really dark.

Black enameled maple board with micro-dots.

All SPC basses (Blackstar, Tuxedo, Redneck) had enameled maple boards, probably because maple is a dense, close-pore wood more suitable to paint over, and owners report they sound slightly brighter than standard padauk-board Rics.

4002's had ebony boards.
