A strange hybrid of MusicMan, Gibson and Italia...

Post by: gweimer on January 22, 2008, 08:46:16 PM: I don't mind the bridge plate so much. These are the first Ibanez I've seen in a while that appeal to me. I've never been a big fan of them. And I'd probably swap out the pickups pretty quick.

Post by: Max Soren on January 25, 2008, 10:33:51 AM: I have mixed feelings about it. I kind of like it, but on the other hand, it reminds me too much of problematic Teisco which was my first bass. Of course, I know it's supposed to just look like a cheap 60's bass, not actually play like one.

He said it's horrible quality:

- there was a gap from 1 to 2 mm between fretboard and neck.
- wobbly pick guard
- brittle finish. if you scrape with your fingernails it chips right off.
- one of the machine head wouldn't stay in tune. It kept dropping from E to almost D.
- dull strings (straight out of the box from the factory).
- noisy pots
- bridge isn't straight

Haven't seen it in real life myself, but according to the above story I would say a No Go.

I was thinking how much better it would look without all that pickguard on there.
