If anyone on LBO is looking for a vintage Sunn head, there's one for sale in Chapel Hill, NC

68' Sunn 200s Bass Amp Head

I don't know a thing about them, but I seem to recall some interest on LBO.

For anyone considering it:

The EL34 conversion was most likely done at the behest of a guitar player. Depending on how well it was done, it could either make the amp a neat play on the Sunn 200S sound, but more likely, it now sounds like ass, and not in a good way. The other "mods" do not speak well for it either. Figure another $2-300 to get it healthy if you buy it.

PBG,

Have you ever heard one of Ted Webers 6S100 amps? It is supposed to be a clone of the Sunn 200S but I seem to have a hard time finding a review of it. Thought I would ask you.

Sniper, look for Ted Weber 6S100, you will find discussions. It is supposedly based on the 200S, but it is not a clone. I built one a few years ago, it's sitting in the basement. Maybe tommorrow I'll fire it up.
