Anyone else have the hots for this ? I have always wanted one, refin or not. What do you guys think about the price ? The seller just relisted it, opening bid and BIN are the same as the last auction.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110518753470&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNARL:US:1123

1968 teles are great. i had one long ago that belonged to the bassist in kansas. paid 175 bucks for it and wish i could afford another. i really liked the single coil pickup.

When the Tele was happening in the late 60s, I didn't like them. I had a serious case of head up my ass at that time. They are great! ;D

That's a reasonable price for a refin in that condition. They do sound great. My problem with them is that the necks are just too big for me, at least every one I've tried. Too wide and deep and a profile that doesn't appeal to me. The second (humbucker) version had a much nicer neck even though it isn't as collectible.

is that supposed to be a butterscotch finish like on the '51 reissues?
-
I forget what they call it but more like a pale yellow or cream color.
-
It was just called blond or natural blond in catalogs back then.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my finger is twitch'n ! CRAP !

That was my prblem with them in the begining too. For me, it was a matter of just giving one a chance and allowing myself to get used to it. I realize that that may not work for everyone but it's something that's worked for me on several basses. If I like the sound enough , I'm willing to give an honest try at bending my ways to adapt to the instrument.Of course I have run in to a few that just plain don't fit >:(

You need to start taking Ginko Biloba to help your memory. I'd give you some of mine , but I can't remember where I put that damn bottle ;)
