RIP.

I didn't realize he had made a stage appearance last year, although from the article it seems he didn't play.

The Ace of Spades indeed.  :-\

I always liked his look and his punkish drumming. Saw him with the classic line up - which for all of Motörhead's inherent musical limits in any incarnation was certainly the one with the greatest stage aura - and in 83 with Robbo (Robbo played in garish jogging pants, white tank top and with his hair dyed red, he couldn't have looked more out of place with the other two in their Mad Max look, it was immediately clear that that line up wouldn't last). Phil hadn't been well for a while and never took good care of himself so I'm not surprised, but it's sad.

RIP brother.

He had great hair to the end.  ;D

I don't care what Lemmy says about the current lineup of Motorhead, the classic lineup will always be the greatest to me.  And Phil's drumming always put a smile on my face.  There will never be another Motorhead.

Rock In Philthy ... Rock In...!

Damn it...!

I only ever saw the "original" line-up, from their first tour and up until Fast Eddie quit... simply stunning... first tour they opened and finished by playing Motorhead... still got the tour shirt, albeit somewhat moth-eaten now
