Just came across this on the bay........... Looks loosely like a Les Paul Sig body..............

It's not on the Maestro by Gibson site yet and it's more expensive than the guitars in that line. Seems to be legit though.
So would this be the Gibson equivalent to Squier?
Interesting; LPSig body with shortie neck. My dream bass project has some hope.
Though I wonder why Gibson felt the need for another budget line when the Epiphone division already exists (and that's how they have been treating it). Fine; I guess now they have 3 tiers.
Seems kinda odd that it has a set neck. I thought the Maestro electrics I saw at Target had bolt on necks............
Not sure this has anything to do with Maestro by Gibson but I could be wrong.

Looks like the same bass.............. Maybe Gibson has nothing to do with it......... :o
Tailpiece & knobs look different, more similarities than differences. Times must be bad when the Chinese have to counterfeit Maestros........ Hurry, only 999 left!
Gibson has had the Maestro line for several years now, sold in big box stores, not music stores.
I doubt the bass on aliexpress is a counterfeit, who would bother to counterfeit a low end bass? More likely that it comes from the same factory.
relisted with lower price.... wonder how low this can go.
Whoa, these Maestro by Gibson instruments popped up at malls in Norway just now. I was not aware they used this old brand anymore.
Have they done it for long?
Recent from what I have seen.
I wonder what other fins are available for this bass.... not really that into this burst.
Maestro by Gibson guitars have been around for at least 6-7 years, maybe a bit longer. Sold by the likes of Big Lots, Costco, Radio Shack, Best Buy etc. Not by music stores.
Ok, so the brandname have been sleeping since the amp line of the 60´s?
Made me wonder, though, I remember reading (could be wrong) that Maestro was a company producing electronic devices and then later (after the intoduction of the fuzztone stombox/ fuzztone bass in 1962 perhaps?) was bought by Gibson.
Can someone set me straight here? Some amps do have a Maestro logo instead of Gibson logo. :-\

Maestro was started by CMI (parent of Gibson) as a brand name of accordions starting in the early 50s and on accordion amps starting in the mid- 50s. It was never an independent company. By the time the fuzzbox came out, there were Maestro guitar amps carried by Gibson dealers.
I was lusting after a Maestro Rover a few years back, but that is Uber Rare.............

They pushed products so much better back then. That transistor temperature note is great, as is the 7" :)
I bet that the instructions booklet is joyful reading too!
