Title: "Tales Of Cream" Cream Tribute Band
Post by: dc10bass on June 22, 2014, 11:17:23 AM

Hey Guys...

Just uploaded some clips from a show we did a few weeks ago...
Other than the Who tribute band I also play bass and sing in a Cream Tribute.

Nice job of capturing the vibe in those numbers!  The acoustics and mic placement make it hard to judge the mix (of course) but it sounds like it's right on target.

Thanks guys!
...yes, at the mercy of the camera mic AND the field recorder that was not properly set up by the sound guy.

To quote a famous French officer, I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that such a thing could happen.

I like the projection, especially the motion stuff in the featured cut. That definitely adds flavor.

Nice! Love the Bass VI (and Danelectro on the stand) - what kind is it? How do you like playing it with fingers?

Thank you... that Bass VI is a modded Pawn Shop Bass VI.
I removed the bridge humbucker and replaced it with a single coil, new pickguard, control plate and 3 pos switch.
Also added a different bridge and a set of La Bella flats with the larger gauge low E.
I really like the Pawn Shop Bass VI ...the spacing is slightly wider at the nut that the Japan issue Bass VI, so it's better if you want to play it like a bass.
It did take me a little bit to get used to the tight spacing.
