Title: Ampeg BSE 115 speaker
Post by: Stjofön Big on June 16, 2014, 08:03:03 AM
Anyone here got a clue concerning what company makes (made?) the speakers to the Ampeg BSE 115? And any opinion about the BSE in question? Or any speaker suggestion for the BSE, outside of the original?

I'm guessing Eminence made the original.

As far as a replacement Eminence Delta15 would be a good choice at a reasonable price.  I have one in my spare B-15 cabinet and it sounds very similar to the original CTS.

The Eminence Legend is another option if you need more power handling capability than the Delta.  I have one in a Fliptops.net repro B-15E cab and it sounds awesome and handles a lot of power.

Even the Eminence 12" speakers have kind of a CTS sound. I have a 15" and a 2 12" cab and they both remind me of CTS. I like 'em :).

Thanks! Any opinions concerning the cabinet and construction of it? Someone told me it's weak, but I don't have a clue...
