Lurk here but generally don't post. Other than Aussie Mark, I don't think anyone here knows that I've had quite a time of it over the past 2-1/2 years. Diagnosed with rectal cancer back in 9/2011. Went through 6 weeks of chemo/radiation, then surgery in 1/2012, then post-surgery chemo from March to August. Good news is I am now 2+ years cancer free and counting.
Figured I would post because I put a number of my basses up on eBay and some of you would see them. Yes, those are mine. Wanting to build a new house to retire in, so is a good time to sell. If anyone here sees something they are interested in, shoot me a message.
Uwe, I was finally back in Germany in November, but just a couple days in Sulzbach. Are you still in Frankfurt?
Bruce
Hi Bruce, very sorry to hear about your illness, good to know you're cancer-free now.
Wish I could afford that '54 EB. Best of luck selling your collection.
Hi Bruce, I was wondering where you had gone - i now guess you had an excuse to be busy with other things ... Happy to hear how you beat it.. I'm still around, working in Frankfurt and living in Langen (a quarter of an hour from the airport). So you're welcome anytime if your exploits take you to us.
Nobody that lives in God's Own is really called Bruce...
[Python] Back in the 70's I used to bump into a Bruce that was married to a Sheila... [/Python] ... honest as God is my witness...
Post a link to the sales so any other extra interested parties might spot them and good luck with the retirement fund...
Some very nice ones.

You're not kidding...!
It's always a shame to thin the herd, but needs must...

Don't be confused by the Aussie Mark reference, Bruce is American and lives in the Cincinnati area.
Wow, congrats Bruce! I'm 26 months cancer free as well. There are several of us here. Good to hear your good news. Keep the faith and your health!
Beautiful collection you're selling, hope you end up with a great house!
Bill
Best of luck with the sales, Bruce. Some beauties there for sure!
Bruce, wishing good health for you from this point on. Some great basses there.

Hmm... I've never met any American called Sheila... but I have heard of Bruce, county of Bruce, slightly north of your borders...
Does he do Logical Positivism...?
Thanks for all the feedback. I do get the MP reference too.

Hey, now we can start an Ohio bassists club!
But seriously here's wishing you the best of health. I'm now over 5 years cancer free.

Congrats on your 5 years. Where in Ohio are you?
Bruce, I notice you're keeping the active ones, 5er Les Paul Standard, Bongo and the EMG pupped Flying V ... What kind of horrible 9 volt trail is that?
My wife comes from Kentucky... that's nearly in Ohio...

Actually the Flying V is already sold to someone in Norway. Keeping the Les Paul since it is my only 5 string. And keeping the Bongo as it is my main player at 18 volts. Get twice the jolt! Also keeping the Victory standard fretless since it will be my only fretless.
I thought you wanted to retire, but instead you've turned all active ... Didn't know you had a Standard fretless, those are nice.

I actually live and work in Kentucky, so that's even better. Near Cincinnati, so that is the geographical center.
She was born near Winchester but has been here since a couple of weeks before you lost JFK... only been back the once, in '03 for a family reunion... we got up to the old family farm and ran into some genuine hill-billy family up there... place called Stepstone, in the middle of nowhere...
Most of her cousins live near Harrodsburg these days...
For those scoring at home, the Flying V went to Norway via New Jersey, the Thunderbird went near Cleveland, OH, the Dan Armstrong went to NYC and the Lakland went to California. No takers on the vintage Gibsons. Someone from Italy wanted me to quote shipping on the EB-2C. Other than that, just a lot of watchers. Not going to re-list if they don't sell. At least not for awhile.

Half-way between Dayton and Ft. Wayne Indiana. Close to Grand Lake.
