Title: The Eggmen need your vote!!!(yet again)
Post by: leftybass on January 16, 2014, 01:28:44 PM
Yes folks it's that time of the year when I beg you to vote for me and my band in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll. The Austin Music Awards are part of SXSW and a big deal!
We've won our category 10 years, and last year I came in 4th in voting for Best Bass Player in Austin(6th and 10th the previous two years).

Go to:
http://www.austinchronicle.com/feedback/musicpoll/13/

Under BEST PERFORMING BANDS
Please vote THE EGGMEN for COVER BAND

Under BEST AUSTIN MUSICIANS
Please vote RONN ROBERTS for BASS

I/we would greatly appreciate it!!!

i take these 'best of' deals with many grains of salt. it's impossible to say who is really the best at anything. is there any wacky science that can actually prove such a thing. i doubt it. i always think of a readers poll in the distant past that said gene simmons was the number one bassist. apparently he was better than john paul jones, entwistle, macca, stanly clark, sqiure and a bunch of other hacks. go figure...

I shoulda mentioned that I'm a member here and that I was asking fellow members to help me out with a vote.
Do I think I'm the 4th best bass player in town? No. Do I get a kick out of the recognition? You bet. Do I think my band is the best cover band in town? Yes I do. Does it help with bookings to have "10-time winners at AMA" on our website? Yes it does.
Sorry I was unclear.

Done!

The Eggmen are easily the best cover band I heard during my years in NB.

Done from the UK too - the ZIP will confuse them... ;D
