I have one from those made years ago and really love it. It's cool to see G&L making them again.

In Europe the price is similar to a Standard USA P. This one will be better.
very very rarely do I have GAS...the CAR variant is doing it big time...
Sure wish they'd do something with that headstock point.
You'll poke your eye out!

Haters gonna hate...
for the same money i would prefer a fender. i've played that g&l and frankly could not find a reason to want it over a fender. the contrarian in me aside.

I've never bonded with any active G&L, but the build quality of the ones I did own smoked any modern Fender for build quality. The plekked necks are fabulous to play. For that reason alone I'd definitely consider this one (being passive) if I was in the market for a brand spanking new P-style bass.
I LIKE the point!

Agreed. I don't have an issue with it at all.
if only it worked as a bottle opener. :toast:
They tried doing without the point and they had to, well, end up with the point. Love it or hate it, a G&L is recognized a mile away because of it.
played a few and now have a pleck'ed bass. awesome is the word. If you like really low action, which i particulary do not, you gotta get pleck'd.
