I'm putting this in "the Bass Zone" because it is a duo consisting of bass, drums and synths. Sounds like Rush and Tangerine Dream hanging out at Vangelis's house. They used to play live but burned out touring, so now they are a mostly studio band. Here is a sample from what I think is their best album, Surface to Air (thanks to Chromium for finding this video!):

This is a really long piece but shows a lot of sides of their music. They also put out solo stuff as Steve Moore (the bassist) and Majeure (the drummer).
Cheers Harry, downloaded and on the ipod already... (sorry Uwe, not ;D)
Argento fan, huh?
Not heard of this band/person...?

Here's one reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goblin_%28band%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goblin_%28band%29)
"Zombi" was the Italian title of "Dawn of the Dead," which featured the music of Goblin. One of my favorite reviews of the band Zombi is something like "the soundtrack to the best sci-fi/horror movie you've never seen"
Investigation underway, thanx..
In this case, a movie I did see, waaaaaay back when... :o :o :o
Goblin also did the soundtrack for Suspiria, which is a/the Argento connection.

Got to love anything with a sequencer in it.
Still digging Zombi!
