With 40 yrs coming up, and a severe boredom/lack of excitement going on these days (don't get to talk about bass that much :) , I'm looking at a new car to replace the 2002 Honda coupe - Does anyone here have any first hand experience with either of these three - based within these years: 2007-2010?
1) Chevy Camaro
2) Dodge Challenger
3) Ford Mustang
Leaning toward a 2009 Challenger w silver & black decals that is very well priced for my region.
I have a very good friend who is MOPAR to the core, he does amazing restorations, His cars are in a ton of Hotrod mags. For a toy he bought the new Mustang ordered it just the way he wanted it big engine no frills. He though the Challenger was over priced.
Btw I think the Challenger is one hot looking car, my favorite looks wise of the three.
I'm a MOPAR guy myself and would probably pick the Challenger and of the three it's probably the best all around.
The review of the Boss 302 I read pretty much indicates it's a bitchin' ride as well. The Boss 302 tops $40k and the GT-500 is at least $10k over that but I'm not sure what a regular Mustang goes for. They have a V-6 now which puts out as much horsepower as the old 5.0 and 4.9 liter V-8s.
The Challenger is just under 17,000, which looks to be decent based on where I live here in Eastern Canada. That/s with a new set of snow tires and approx 45,000 mi/60,000 K on it.
Same two black stripes as this minus the RT letters.

There's another one that's at 21,000, all black, sunroof and black leather.
I think 2014 is the last year for Challengers.
One surprising thing about the Challenger is how big it was compared to the 'Stang.
I heartily endorse the Mustang! I have an 08 GT that I picked up almost 2 years ago with 28,000 miles on it, one owner. It's got a 4.6l engine, 300 hp, 5 speed and really moves! I opted for an 08 because the newer 11 and 12's have a 6 speed tranny that was giving owners problems, so I went for the proven, tested 5 speed. Oh yeah!

Petrolheads... tsk tsk tsk... ;D
One of Jackie's KY cousins nearly fell over when he found out how much fuel cost over here - his V12 Ford pickup barely did 10 to the gallon...
I bleed Chrysler blue.
The Challenger is a pretty big car - always a plus in my book. Buy. Enjoy.
The GT is my 3rd. Mustang. I love 'em. I also think the Challenger and Camaro have great styling, too. I'd be happy with either of them. Plenty of big engine options in either one. When I pass one or the other on the road, the other drivers and I almost always exchange "thumbs ups!" American muscle is where it's at, no matter who makes it!
Long may it be so... 8)
I have the urge to drive a Mustang, but I need to finish the work on my 280ZX Turbo and sell it first.
Sell it as a project and live the dream...

Like Kenny said! I sold some bass projects I didn't have time to finish. It was a relief and I spent the money on some new basses

Problem is that I have the manifolds half off and the head has to come off. Right now it's worth probably $3000 less than if I get it back together. Next spring will do fine.
I went with the Challenger. Love it.

Makes sense to me!

I want to remove the Decepticon logo, but the little guy likes it too much!

I love it! They were smart to make it a faithful reissue of the original. A nice job of styling.
That was a big thing for me - retro. I always said that if I won a lottery or maybe later in life I'd like to buy a 69/70 Charger or Challenger, so this for me is the same thing! Never owned my own car, well, I did for a few months before the firs wife got it when we split 12 years ago!!
It all started with a test drive of a mustang on Thursday. It takes me longer to pick out a book at a book store...
Looks great; I love the taillights on those!
Mustang for me. I ordered my '08 GT just how I wanted it, and took delivery almost exactly 5 years ago. It's never given me any trouble. I immediately lowered it and did some performance mods. Great car! Interior is cheap-ish, with a lot of hard plastic, but it has a great retro look like my old '67.

Haha, twins separated at birth!
While we're on the subject of cars, I've the hankering for en ex-police or ex-highway patrol car. Back in the '80s and '90s I wish I'd bought any of the '70s Furys which could be had cheap.

Now I have to take my black Thunderbird out for a pic ;)
Love that blue - that is the same color and car that started this for me on Thursday. Wasn't a GT, but quite similar.

A guy I worked with in L.A. in the late 80s had an ex undercover 70s Fury he bought cheap. Got mistaken for a cop a few times.
all the old ford cop cars in atlanta are now taxi cabs.
Love my American muscle so much, I want an older Corvette now!!!
i had one of these in black.
