Title: In need of a Gibson RD Case
Post by: Ampig on November 06, 2012, 07:30:52 AM
After last nights gig, the handle of my '77 Gibson RD's case broke. I've "fixed" it for the moment with an old cable and lots and lots of duct tape, but I'm looking into finding a new case for the bass.
I've been searching for the better part of the day now, but can't seem to find a decent case that will fit the bass.

Any ideas/recommendations would be much appreciated.

Is something else wrong with the case besides the handle? If not, a luggage repair shop can fix the handle.

Replacing the handle makes more sense.  One of many available:

True, I do that all the time. Mind you, the repair costs can often reach the cost of a new case but then an original case is something too.

With the Chris Novoselic Sig out, I would imagine that ardent gigbaggers will soon put their surplus cases on ebay. Or you might even get one from Gibson if your have a shop with some contacts.
