Buffalo NY water front, last year week got soaked this year a nice bright sunny day. We had a gig the night before all of us are on about three hours sleep. we played 2 1/2 hours straight, we owned it. The are was blocked off for a time, one poor guy was having a bad day they talked him off a building behind us. no cars in our out for a while, it kept attendance down, I'm just glad they talked that poor guy down. We were treated like we were GnR full bar at 10 AM, I was like you do want us to play right? Hope this link works. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151117408073415.468193.505898414&type=1

Even a little reverse action goin' on there. Very good! Looks like a really fun gig. I'm envious! :)

Maybe we have to be fb friends?
-
I've been holding fb at arms length for some time now...

My two children (18 and 20) tell me that "a man your age has no business there unless he's a creep". I'm sure that is just a self-serving argument ...
My Face Book is here!
-
I was resistant to fb but I succumbed. It can be a pain in the a** and a time waster BUT I have reconnected with so many old friends I find it worth the bs. Plus I can stalk my daughter, find out what shes up to ;)

Maybe that's a reflection of who uses it in Germany. Not in most other places.

If one is a creep in real life they'll be a creep on Facebook. If one is a decent person... (They may turn into a crazy person around election time but other than that they're usually OK.)
-
So, are we getting to see these pics then? Set them to be public or something?
-
I Just set them to public hope it works.
-
Still not viewable.
-
Nice 'birds there Scott!
-
When I get a moment I'll transfer some to photo bucket and post them, sorry the fb thing doesn't work for everyone.

My kids have seen all my photos from the 80's and wanted to know why my hair wasn't long anymore. The older one asked me to grow it out so I "look like" him and I figured, why not? Another year or so and it'll actually be long again.

Thx for the add, Scott, now I can see them. Nice shots! But if you transfer some to photobucket then Uwe will be able to see them, and we won't be able to convince him to join FB. ;)

Kenny glad you like the look it is sort of patterned after the MC5 Denim/flag style of the day. The flare jeans are ladies size 12 lol. Tye dye was never really my thing but I wanted a late 60's mid 70's kinda vibe.

5 basses and women's clothing.......................Who are you? Me? ;)
Love the shots Scott!

Great pics, thanks for going to the trouble of putting them up

LMAO My daughter chides me for wearing double denim, apparently a fashion no no of the highest order. I am quick to point out that according to her source to the rules don't apply to musicians ;)

Very cool Scott! Love all of that TB action!
-
Funny stuff! I've heard it called a denim jumpsuit, though an ACTUAL denim jumpsuit would be way cooler! Or not... ;D My jean jacket of choice is a real dark faded brown, so I can get away with it.
How many bass changed do you make on a single show Scott??? ;) I've recently started switching to my Gibson when I step up and sing Rock and Roll all Nite...

Typical I bring 3-4 basses, usually 4 because I like to have a extra NR in the rack just in case something happens. Multiple tunings=multiple basses. I had 5 this show because I just couldn't decide what to bring. I like the fretless for the Bad Co. stuff so I bring that to. We played for 2.5 hours no breaks.
-
Definitely looks like a hard-rocking event!

(note the two lovlies in in the front of the Tom shot having a pic with the stage in the shot... ;D)
The look works for me, Scott... mind you, I suspect size 12 may be a tad on the large size for Ze Fraulein... ;)

I have been riding every other day 10 miles in the morning, 20 or so on the weekends. Along with the green drink for breakfast I'm down 15 lbs. I might even be able to get into the 10's ;) Funny thing is I have been dressing like this since I was 15.........................not much changes I guess. I can still fit into the leather pants I just don't feel like it lately.
-
You need a Doors set for those...
Okay, what's your dress size, Mark...? he's thrown down the gauntlet... must be an east coast/west coast thing... ;D
-
Oh Kenny it's not even a contest! Mark will win by several dress sizes ;D I am happy to crown him Queen....................huh that must make me King ;)

Depending on the dress I'm either an 8 or a 10 Kenny, sizes have a lot to do with your height, I am 6' 1/2" barefoot and about 164lbs.
And a shot from Seattle's "High Dive" a couple weeks ago, a very fun night we shared the bill with an all female Soundgarden tribute band and "Pelvis" (punk Elvis).

You can do it if you adjust your eating habits. Often easier said than done, I know. But on the whole, we eat so much more now than when I was a kid. Bigger portions, more choices. No amount of exercise can overcome that.

Baroness Chromos... although I have 1/2" on you, bare-foot, how high are those heels on you boots... ;)

I do pretty good Dave. I have a green drink for breakfast greens and fruit in a blender) sandwich for lunch with some veggies and fruit. Dinner is usually meat/fish, veggies and rice or potatos. I don't snack between meals. I cycle for exercise. No doubt Dave I could cut back on somethings but man is it tougher as you get older.

Tell me about it! But adjusting portions is the key. A few years back I just started gaining because I wasn't watching what I was eating. One day I weighed myself and I was up to 186. Too much for my frame, and it showed. So without changing what I eat, I started cutting back. Two strips of bacon every morning instead of four, small glass of OJ instead of large, one hamburger or pork chop or piece of chicken at dinner instead of two, no huge baked potatoes, etc. Hoped to get down to 175. Wound up getting down to 161 before it leveled off, and it's stayed there. Now I can't eat the bigger meals I used to. It's too much for me to finish.
Also, not eating out often sure helps. There must be at least 5x as many restaurants per capita as there were when I was little, and the portions are much larger than they used to be.
-
Ah... if only I had the resolve... being veggie does not mean being healthy... ;)
-
It's those vegitarian twinkies Kenny
-
I've made progress in the past couple years, but it's been tough this year. I dropped 75 lbs. last year, but still a long way to 250, my goal. This year, I've been trying to watch what I eat, and no food after about 7:00 pm on any night. I do get out on my bike, but with one knee bone-on-bone, I don't get in as much time as I'd like. Still, I've managed to keep off most of what I lost. I have another 40 to go to my goal. I'm back in the right direction, at any rate.
-
240 but stable...
Keep it up, Gary... the long run will be worth the effort, long term...
It's those vegitarian twinkies Kenny
They are...? :o Wow ... all that eating I've missed... II think I tried one once... not for me - pizza is a weakness, that and chips, and I don't mean what you call them - deep-fried slabs of spud, served up slathered with tomato sauce in a slab of crusty bread... the chip-buttie...
Oh yeah, cheese and onion pastie...
-
I'm 5'11" and weigh about 180 now. When I went to college I was the same height but weight 133. If I could back off to 170 I'd be fine with that. Besides, I have all these old jeans...
-
Bean pole... 130... :o
180 is about the weight I was when I played on a regular basis...
-
Baroness Chromos...
This, I like! ;D Mark, you'll now need to come up with some type of tiara - perhps take the chrome up a notch to platinum ;)
So, where do you keep the chrome calf that Uwe acuses all of the Chromlings of worshiping? ;D
-

I saw a quote that said "You can't out-exercise a bad diet". I'm all about moderation. I don't shy away from pizza, beef sandwiches, cheeseburgers, pasta, tacos, etc., but I eat very little fast food and don't drink much soda. I also exercise religiously.
-
Soda pop is a killer. Each 12oz can of Pepsi has around 9 teaspoons of sugar in it. Orange and grape soda has even more.
People switch to diet soft drinks and then continue drinking as many or more than they did before. Just because it's "diet" or "low in calories" doesn't mean you should over indulge.
I've seen many vegetarians who use vegetarianism as an excuse to eat as much as they want; hence, I see many overweight vegetarians.
-
No excuses here, I've been on a "seafood" diet for years... (see-food an' eat it... ;D)
I was no different as a carni/omni... ;)
-

Don't know about a fatted calf but this is a vaguely disturbing image of the Chicago Cloud Gate which is certainly "chromey" enough to be worshiped over... ;)

I've replace "soda" stuff with beer, or with what we call soda here, carbonized water that is. Cola drinks contain alot more harmful stuff except sugar, like phosphoric acid, preservatives etc.
-
I don't drink pop at all.
-
... like phosphoric acid...
Great for descaling kettles... honest...

Me neither. Drink lots of coffee though.

i drank 5 or 6 diet cokes a day for years. real coke is too sweet. lately my doctor said it is bad for your kidneys, of which i have only one.
-

You don't say? 14 teaspoons of sugar per 13oz can.
-
diet coke has zero sugar per can.
-
I read an article a while back that said simply lowerering your total intake by 100 calories a day will drop 10 pounds in a years time - that's giving up just one can of Coke - in my case Dr. Pepper. Summertime is brutal down here and those damn $1.00 drinks at McDonald's really screw me up. I've started keeping a small cooler in my van and packing two or three bottles of water - I hit Subway more and drink my water - I've dropped a few pounds and saved some $$
As for diet drinks - blech!! :P I hate the taste, and, no, I never got "used" to it either. Plus, they really screw with your metabolism and the chemical angle is more than enough to scare me away - if the taste hadn't already
-
... I hit Subway more and drink my water...
Ahh... a weakness is the veggie footlong with everything - has a detrimental effect to my digestive system but lets not go there... :o ;D
diet coke has zero sugar per can.
Plenty of phosphoric acid though... :toast: :puke:
I try and do some typing every morning before work, an hour (or two if I'm lucky - I don't sleep much), and the coffee tends to be strong, black, and sugar free - I'm usually on the road for 0730... not today as they've forgotten to let me know what I'm doing and there's usually no one in until 0830... aww shucks... I eat a sandwich for breakfast (on route to first job) with a cup of camomile tea... 3 pieces of fruit during the day, usually later... a coffee during my break with another 30 minutes of PC time... evening meal when I get home and beverage is usually redbush tea... presently enjoying a glass of merlot to round off a public holiday weekend... 36 hours of typing...

LOL!

I don't drink much soda anymore, but if I do it's usually Coke Zero. It tastes kinda like a less sweet Coke to my tastebuds. I drink more water or iced tea if I am eating out (unless alcohol is involved ). I am trying to slim down again, it just gets harder with age.
-
We've probably brought this up before, but diet pop can actually contribute to weight gain and not loss.

Doh. I was referring to how sweet real coke is.

FTW. It almost tastes like the real thing, unlike Diet Coke, which is too bitter for me

Interesting. One trick I've been doing for a long time now is, when I make a sandwich for lunch (which is almost every week day), I put everything on ONE piece of bread cut in half. That's a good 100 cals right there. I also drink tons of water, even when I'm boozing it up. Actually, ESPECIALLY when I'm boozing it up! I'm in much better shape at 48 than I was in my mid-late 30s.
-
I've been a diet soft drink guy for years, thoughtfully polluting my precious bodily fluids (ref: Dr. Strangelove). In Fort Collins the national drink is any kind of craft or microbrew, so I'm a heavier consumer of that than I am of soda.

I guess you could make veggie haggis - get a stinky old hemp or burlap sack and stuff it with turnips, beets, rutabagas, parsnips add an onion or two and some soybeans to lend it a modern flare - all brasied in some ditchwater strained through a circus fat ladies girdle :P All veggie and still disgusting ;D
-
back in the early seventies there was a veggie eatery across from emory university. it was VERY organic, the server girl behind the counter would fix your food while breast feeding her baby. boob hanging out for all to see.. what's a little mother's milk on a sprout sandwich between friends. ;D
-
That is the kind of organic cuisine I lke!
