I saw that too. My guess is it was either someone's attempt at machining a homeade Schaller 460, etc.., or it came off some clone bass. I've never seen anything like that on an original Gibson bass before.
Seems like it would tilt up like a mofo, unless you somehow torque it down on the studs with big washers, or something. To me, the baseplate looks too thin (like a Fender bridge's thickness) to work on the Gibson studs as is.
Hey - it actually has bids on it now! That says something. ???
That's a vintage Wishbass bridge.

;D Shows what they know! I have an older Wishbass bridge than that!

LMAO!
But that is one of the better variations where the twig already has a truss rod and the thorns are filed down!
It looks like someone pounded a double ended wrench into submission.
The studs might actually be vintage Gibson.
:D Very funny guys, very funny! :P
Looks like some kids shop project. :P
I think it was meant for this bass :o

HA ! Seriously I like that bass but not 280 bucks worth of like.
You guys crack me up! Why don't we have a Wishbass forum? ;D
I was looking at a bass with that bridge recently
It was on a Japanese Greco EB 3 with a bolt on neck , it must have been a very early one or one of the cheaper models
Sorry I havent been saving photos recently (had 60GB of bass pics on my harddisk and it crashed)
Thanks
Robert
10 bids???
WTF?
Why not put the thorn stick up on the Bay, see what happens ?
Advertise it as a wish bass crown of thorn bridge. Say it will help it atone for your sin of bass choices.
This is why I love this place. I saw it and had a relapse.... wish bass forum sounds good for the laughs alone
I love the stick bridge, very high tech compared to this POS on eBay. BTW, do they call them "wish basses" because that's what they "wish" they were?
While it looks sketchy it looks like a good experiment. The measurements sound like it will fit an EB-0, EB-2, EB-3...definitely need cleaning up and some work but still an interesting alternative. My worry would be the bridge chassis is not actually thick enough to be snug on the studs (they do look like vintage studs...then again all of us older guys here are 'vintage studs' ;)

"Hmmm did you ever hear of a wish bass?
A wish bass was the kind a bass
that you supposed to join two pieces of wood
and wish you had a bass
doh doh doh oooommm...."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYGZ9nn7T-w
